7th grade boys--Westfall beats Huntington by 11 (Corey Wyman 30 points!! 6 threes)
8th grade boys--Westfall beats Huntington 39-28

Valley Junior High boys opened the season with Wheelersburg at home
7th grade game went double OT with Burg hitting some free throws to win it 34 to 30
8th grade game Valley won 41 - 14 with good pressure and ball movement

Was an exciting game to watch. Valley is alot better than the burg boys thought they would be! In the end the bench was the difference. The burg 7th grade team is about 10 deep...........Good way to start the season boys!
Wheelersburg 8th: 14
Valley 8th: 41
This game was over in the 1st quarter. Valley 8th grade is fun to watch! unselfish team play great passing, good fundamental basketball. Pirates 8th grade just couldnt hang with them rebounding and getting back on D.

Valley 8th grade beat Oak Hill 8th Monday night 47 -- 17 move to 3 -0 on season go to South Webster on Thursday
Valley 7th grade also but I did not get to see the score

Vinton County 7th and 8th grade boy's are both 3-0. 7th grade has victories over Western Pike 63-5, Athens 55-27, and Alexander 59-18. 8th grade over Western Pike 64-21, Athens by around 15 or so, and Alexander by somewhere in the twenties. Not sure exact scores on last two 8th grade games. Both teams are very talented. Future looks bright for VC.

Minford 7th and 8th grade teams both improve to 3-0 with a pair of victories over two good Wheelersburg teams.
Victories for both over South Webster and Northwest also.

beat Galia, Rock Hill , Fairland and lost to Ports

Valley 8th grade won tonight over South Webster 68 - 25 to move to 4 - 0 on the season. the starters were able to get into a groove tonight playing most of the first half and then the sparingly in the second half ...the guys off the bench kept it right on going and played well with good ball movement and hustle
Valley 7th grade also won and are improving with each game

Vinton County 7th and 8th grade improve to 4-0 with victories over Wellston. Vinton County 7th grade 74 Wellston 13. Vinton County 8th grade 40 Wellston 26.

Wheelersburg 7th and 8th grade boys defeated oak hill.
8th grade record 2-2
7th grade record is 3-1.
The best thing about the Wheelersburg basketball program is they develop players for the future. They only play man to man defense while every school that we have faced up to this point has play the 2-3 zone. They never press and they always play all the subs. Its not about winning at this level its about developing players, In the later years. I'm not making excuses for the loses, However when you combine the Freshman, eighth and seventh grade they will be extremely successful in all 3 sports....................

Valley 8th grade goes to 5-0 with a win over portsmouth at portsmouth 48- 39 ...Valley had a big game from rolfe scoring and howard with steals, scoring and the big guys on the boards did a good job too
