Lucasville Valley 2009 Biddy Basketball Tournament

Special Rules
All Players MUST play or live in the same school district

*3rd and 4th Grade- No defending in the back court (pressing) with exception of the last 2 minutes of the 2nd and 4th quarters and entire overtime periods. No defending in the backcourt once up 10 points or more.

*3rd and 4th Grade - Players shooting free throws must start behind the foul line, but may breached the foul line if the momentum of the players natural shot carries him across. The shooting player must not break to collect rebound until the ball touches the rim.

*3rd and 4th Grade - Due to the fact that the Valley Elementary Gym floor dose not have a three point arc, all made baskets from the floor will count as two point baskets. This will transfer to the awarding of foul shots. Games played in the later rounds of the 3rd and 4th grade tournament may be played on the Valley Intermediate Gym floor that does have a three point arc and shots made from the floor behind the arc will count as three point shots.

*(Water Only Please) No soft drinks or sports drinks are permitted in Valley Elementary Gym.

ALL OTHER RULES ARE LISTED BELOW. WE WILL USE OHSAA RULES IF NOT LISTED HERE.

Playing Rules

• Length of game – Games will have (4) 6 minute quarters and as many minute overtime periods that it takes to determine a winner.

• Clock – The clock will stop and start on the official’s command. If a team is ahead by 20 or more points in the second half, the clock will continue to run except for shooting fouls, and team or official time outs. Pressing rules for grades 5 and 6 will be per OSHAA as will anything listed without the *3rd and 4th grade preface. I have a call into Mr. Harr and will post ASAP to answer your second question. Thanks for your interest and please post or contact Tim Harr with any additional questions. Hope you can join us.

Any possibility of splitting the grades up individually if there are enough teams?

Clay will make 3-3rd and 6-4th grade teams, and I know Jesco would like to bring his Minford 3rd grade team also.

Get your 3rd grade team in, and I know Minford will get their 3rd grade team in. This will mean a seperate tournament for 3rd and 4th grades. I know it is so hard to get third grade only tournaments. Hope KOOLKOACH and Jesco get their teams in.

Just got off the phone with Tim, and Minford's 3rd Grade Team is officially in the tourney. Now, if KOOLKOACH can get his 3rd grade team in, we can have a split tourney. Either way, it should be a lot of fun.
