With all the rain I don't see the Peake fields being able to handle it. South Point's Little League boys field would be a great alternative with the new sod and new drainage that was put in last year it really soaks up the rain. You might want to look at moving it there. At least for a day or two.

The field that was used for the District Tournament was in excellent shape and would probably be ok to use. I don't know about the second field they were working on as to how it might be.

You are correct the field was in great shape, Now I'm not from peake but I am guessing if the water gets very high
the place gets flooded out. Did you notice the concession stand ? It was on pontoons. And bolted to some steel poles
to float, but not float away.

Still I'm sure they are up there working hard on the fields right now.
Most of us have done it. I feel for them. The field workers are always
underapprecieated.

Hopefully the water stays down.

The sad part is that those fields get flooded due to back water from the Ohio when it gets high then it starts to make it way up that creek. It might be a few days until that would occur. I hope that doesn't happen , especially with all the hard work they have put into the tourney. In the girls tournament they had one day at Minford and had to move the other two days to Ironton. This sucked for the teams that thought their hotels were fairly close and then had to move 30 minuters further west!

North Canton defeated Ashtabula by 10 plus runs yesterday evening.

Wheelersburg vs. Ashtablula today at 3:00. The game site has been changed to 3:00.

Thanks to the Ironton Little League for allowing this game to be played at their facilities.

Wheelersburg defeated Ashtabula today in losers bracket play by the score of 13-1.
Ashtabula is eliminated. Wheelersburg plays again tomorrow at 10:00 at Chesapeake against the loser of Washington Court House and Mt. Vernon.

Washington Court House eliminated Wheelersburg today by the score of 10-1. Mingus had a solo home run which turned out to be the only run for the Pirates. Cluxton picks up the win for WCH. Robinson (WCH) had two home runs. Congrats WCH and Good Luck the rest of the way.

Thanks to the fine young men from Wheelersburg....it was great to watch you compete! Thanks to Coach Lindamood, Risner and Marvin for all the time and work you put into this team! In losing, the Wheelersburg faithful made a tunnel on the field as the team exited to the dugout. The fans showed great support! Thanks for the memories!!!!!

Wheelersburg's team has made history from what I have been told. They are the first team at this age level to win a State Tournament game. Congratulations to the young men! Winning the District was a suprise to some! The coaches,parents and fans of this team are extremely proud of your accomplishments!

North Canton vs. Washington Court House and Howland vs. Clyde are the remaining teams in the losers' bracket.

Hamilton eliminated North Canton today 12-3. Hamilton moves on to the championship game against Mt. Vernon tomorrow needing to beat Mt. Vernon twice to take the State Championship. Good Luck to both!
