Who are the teams to beat, and which players look like good soccer players?

Minford over Valley U15 team 3-1. Very good game between two very good teams.

Both U8 South Webster teams won. Not sure of the score, but one beat West and the other beat New Boston.

U10 South Webster and Minford tied at 2 (i think it was 2-2, or 3-3). I thought it was a well played game by both.

U12 South Webster A over Valley B (9-0) Webster controlled most of the game. Valley played very hard.
U12 South Webster B over Clay (10-0) Clay has a lot of young ladies playing. Would be nice to see Clay start a girls soccer team. I think they could be pretty good.

U15 South Webster over Eastern (4-1) Good game with some great saves by the Webster goalie!

Glad to see soccer has started! College Football is just around the corner too!

Wheelersburg U15 Club Team starts their season this week with home games against Ironton St. Joe on Wednesday at 5:30 and Boyd Co. on Thursday at 6:00.

Minford B U-15 wins 5-2 over Portsmouth to go 2-0.

Minford score was actually 6-1. Perry's late goal was the 6th goal, and Portsmouth's 1st score did not count since it was an indirect kick and their player shot directly in the goal without it being touched by another player first. This is why Minford got a goal kick after it went in instead of being taken out to midfield. I guess the score doesn't matter, but the important thing is that Minford goes to 2-0. Keep up the good work Falcons. Not bad play for a team that cannot have a solid practice schedule with all the other commitments (football, volleyball, etc.) these players have.

4th n goal, swb u12 , 5 of it's 12 players are 10 or under. I'm pretty sure 4 of them are 9. And one 11 year old and the only 12 year old have never played before. There wasn't enough kids to fill the u15 squad with jr high kids so they moved up a bunch of 11 year olds that are playing u12 and u15. No rule against it.

We have a couple 11's on each team and a some played up to U15, but yes there are a lot of 10's on our 3 U12 teams.

4th and Goal, Who was the Burg team that came to South Point on Tuesday of this week? Was it the actual school team or your U-15 team. Just wondering...thanks

There is no Wheelersburg school team. That was a U15 club team that plays a travelling schedule. Most of those kids also play on a U15 or U12 county team. I believe there are 6 or 7 11year old 6th graders on that team.

SP's team is comprised of 6-8th graders as well and are U14. We are playing some middle school teams throughout the week and rec. teams on Saturdays.

On the topic of a child playing in 2 age groups, I was told ( do not know if it is a rule) that if a child plays up an age that the child could not play in a younger group. My players were 9 years old playing U12 but were not allowed to play any U10 games due to playing up an age group. Another question I have is can a player play on 2 different teams from different areas in a season? For example play for Porstmouth and Lucasville in the same age bracket. Is there a rule against it and where does a club team fit in with that rule.
