This was not a freak loss!!!! Southeastern played all 14 players was up by 16. You pressed our 3rd team (who never get to play in our league) with your 1st team to get the game close. Dylan and Jake played min. time in the 4th quarter and were still up by 16. It would be a cake walk for the followng teams to beat Western--- Zane trace, Unioto, Piketon, Peebles, Chillicothe, Minford, Miami Trace, Greenfield Mcclain. I have watched them all play and they are all better than Western.Jake Lane wrote:I think they will rule!!! Clay won't be able to touch them, their just too good. A freak loss to Southeastern means nothing, they will bounce back to clean house in the S.O.C.!
Western won the 1st quarter of the scrimmage by 2, but the Burg won the next two quarters (the 3rd quarter included the starters) and was winning the last quarter before it was called because of an unfortunate injury. However, this was a scrimmage where priority one is letting all your players play. Wheelersburg also scrimmaged SE pretty even and I believe SE was the better team compared to Western, IMO. The Burg 8th grade would compete, but struggle with all the teams jm1919 mentioned. I've seen most SVC and SOC teams play over the summer and Ironton's 8th grade is the team to beat in Southeast Ohio. THEY ARE LOADED!We scrimmaged wheelersburg's eighth grade team and won 3 out of 4 quarters this year which is better than any of the teams you mentioned.
Im sorry if the truth hurts. I did not degrade your team. I like the Brewster boy and the Shanks boy. They could become great players with some AAU or Oyb playing Time. What is degrading is when you are down by 16 + w/2:00 Left in the Game and you press the 3rd string team with your 1st to make the Game look closer. Then you bragg your team is better. We were tring to get our non-starters some playing time in the closing minutes. Most teams would sub their weaker players and let them finish. Next time Congrat the Winners. We were nice enough to not run up the score. You can add Athens to the list!!!What a nice team. 4 starters between 5'11" and 6'1" Tall and Mobile.GOINDIANS wrote:jm1919. Not sure what happened saturday. Southeastern did win handily but was not the better team. Just one of those days. You are pretty good at running your mouth, but the reality is we have beaten some very good teams and would be very competitive with any of the teams mentioned. We played right with and could have very easily beat chillicothe last year. We scrimmaged wheelersburg's eighth grade team and won 3 out of 4 quarters this year which is better than any of the teams you mentioned. One game does not define a team. Congradulations on the win. Your kids played extremely well. Please quit degrading another very good team.
