Right off a young man to watch for in the SEOAL is Cole Wigal from Warren --who vaulted 10 feet as a 7th grader

a few other in the SEOAL

Kyle Casady in the 1600 from Logan
Dean Jordan in the sprints from Logan
Olivia Queen in the hurdles from Gallipolis
Blake Wilson in the 800 from Gallipolis
The 4x100 girls team from Gallipolis
Not sure if she is in the 8th this year but Kaetlyn Sheets from Jackson in the 1600/800

I would say Lucy Williams from Athens and Shanan Ashton from Fairland may be tops in the 1600 in the area. Ally Malone from Alexander is strong in the 1600/800. Hannah Dugan and K Gray from Warren and Faith Freeman from Logan all looked good at the league cross country meet but not sure if any of them will be running track. Kaetlyn Sheets from Jackson in the 1600/800.

One boy that is flying under the radar is Seth Balderson from Warren 8th grade and classmate with Cole Wigal. He runs 100M, 4x 100 and maybe running the 400 this year, he has been clocked running the 40 in low 4.5. We expect big things from him this year on the team as he has shown leadership on the football field and should carry over to track season.

Watch out for Owen Labare 7th grader from Marietta 400 up to the 1600

he looks like a young Jason Linton clone!

Could anyone give me some results on girls long jump? What would be considered a good distance? I have a 7th grade daughter just starting with track.

Looking over baums page 13'-15' seemed to be the common jumps at most meets for the girls that placed (invitationals).

ironmen1987 could you give me the site where you got this information? My daughter should do well then if she can put everything together. Her team will be at the Oak Hill Inv.

baums page is where i get most of the area results online. I actually looked at last years Oak Hill Inv results as one of the meets to base a good long jump distance for jr high.

Well after the first meet for Valley girls. 7th graders Laken Munn, Megan Duduit, and Kamryn Conaway did very well. They all placed in their events.
