Ironton's 4th Grade All-Star Girls Team

Post by pan-ger »

Winners of the CK tournament, ask not to come to South Point's Tourney, played one day in South Webster's tourney and didn't have to play the next weekend for 1st place, won the State Tourney in Hillard, and played two games in Boyd County and given 1st place without playing the rest of the games. This group of girls has size, skill and depth (10 quality players). The coach runs a new five on the floor every 3 minutes with no let down. Considering there were only 30 girls in the Ironton 3rd-4th grade division its amazing to see so many girls who can score and play like they can. They are all 4th grade girls, no older girls on the team, and they are all Ironton kids. This is one of those special groups that comes around every few years. Good luck girls, now lets move to softball.

This is a very good team and they deserve credit for their accomplishment. The girls are all Ironton kids and either go to Ironton City Schools or St. Lawrence Cathloic School. Congradualation on a fine seaason.

A very good team, impressed with them at Webster, however they were more than welcomed to return to the Webster tourny, but we understod why they didn't return. Good luck in the future and you are always welcomed at Webster.

They were asked not to come back to South Webster. The medals they got were awful. These girls are hard workers and they are all in fourth grade. Unreal that people would ask them not to come back. What is this teaching our kids? My daughter is on the team and she doesn't understand why people would not want to play good competition.

I'm really surprised usually when a team has talent the first thing people ask if they got held back or started school late, they don't ask about hard work.

No we didn't ask them to not come back, the tournament only cost $80 to enter, and if you got medals why complain. 80 is cheap to play in a tournament. Most are 100 and you still get medals, after paying refs doesn't leave a lot of money for fundraising, which mst tournys are put on for. Every tournament we played in we got one trophy and medals, except where we got tshirts. We didn't complain we still came in first or second, and the kids were happy, thr is what is important.

Not complaining about medals, complaining that MY daughter and the other girls were asked not to return. We played 2 games. Thats it. Those girls work very hard, they are ALL fourth graders and the best girl on the team is one of the youngest. People don't like to play up. In Ironton, we play up. We play Division 1 teams in football. We want to play better schools and improve. Maybe we should have brought girls back and you have to explain to them why they couldn't play. Jealousy is a bad thing.
