Big game for the Jr High Senators. Anyone have any info on Ironton's Jr High? What field do they play on? Predictions?

Ironton plays behind new Elem/Middle School. SPMS played them week before last. Ironton is big upfront, but lack speed. SP was able to get on the edge and put up some points on the board. Tigers run the basic Ironton full house offense and defense. The one thing they did well was throw the ball. They have a nice wide out that has some speed, and can catch. The qb has a good arm for middle school. Good Luck to both teams...

Are you talkin about Ironton 8th grade? If so what does their 7th grade have? And also do they have bleachers for the old doggies to sit on?

I was speaking of 8th grade, SP doesn't have enough kids for 7th grade. They do have some bleachers on one side of the field. I just brought my captains chair...and set on visitor side, it was kinda like a soccer game. Up close and personal..

QB does have a nice arm. Seen some unfamiliar faces on irontons 8th grade though. Who is the QB and Wideout that you are referring too?

I heard today that west 7th and 8th will play together due to Ironton not having a 7th grade team. I find it odd that Ironton would only have 1 team with soapy boys. Oh well should make it very interesting to say the least.

ironton will be combining the 7th and 8th grade for a couple games on the schedule due to injuries and have a couple kids that are on vacation the 7th grade has 14 kids on the team and the 8th has had some key injuries which makes them really thin. i would love to play west 7th again like last year which was a pretty close one if i can recall. coaches are doing the right thing just have to many that will be missing irontons 8th grade is huge up front couple kids that are 6-4 6-1 6-2 6-0 and they do have speed. as far as south point goes the 8th grade only played 2 quarters and 7th played 2 quarters against an predomitely all 8th grade sp team it was a scrimmage game for ironton. south point scored on the 8th grade on the first play of the game.ironton droped alot of passes that were td . all but one td was against irontons 7th grade. oh well let them have there thunder but this 8th grade team which was undefeated there 6th grade year will show there power this week they are very prepared and woke up for this one go tigers!!!!

I wish we were not combining. I would like to see them play grade by grade. When we combine you will see a lot of 7th graders. QB, most of the backs, and half the line.

I was hoping to see both games. I hate to combine the games but I guess you have to do what you gotta do.

Wouldn't this technically be a forfeit by Ironton for their 7th grade team??

they would not count it a a forfeit most of the OVC schools do not have 7th grade teams and if they did most only played 2 quarters because of the low numbers

West is in the SOCII and Ironton is not in the OVC...My point is you need to play grade by grade in Junior high if you have 11 play 11. You are not preparing your kids if you have them to play and you combine to try to win. That is what it boils down to. Instead of make your boys better for the future they would rather kids not play and try to win. But whatever. The Tigers may not have liked the outcome o the game from last year, but that's life. Oh well I'm done whining. Well put out best 11 on the field and see what they have to offer.
