Southeastern Ohio Basketball League 2012-13

The Southeastern Ohio Basketball League is beginning its 3rd season.

The league features school affiliated boys travel teams from grades 4-6. (All team members must atttend the same school). All games will be played on the campus of Portsmouth High School on regulation size courts. Teams will compete against same grade levels (4th grade vs. 4th grade). League will be officiated by licensed officials.

League Fee:
$250.00 = Entry fee into league and end of season tournament.
$200.00 = Entry fee into league (league play only, no tournament at the end of season).
$100.00 = Entry fee for teams that do not participate in league, but would like to play in tournament.

Dates:
League - December 1st to February 2nd
Tournament - February 11th thru 17th (tentative)

You can count the Ironton 6th grade in for 250...This league is the most organized league I have been a part of...very competitive...and very well officiated...nice courts great people...no other league in our area will compare.

Who are the top teams in each division ? I hear Ironton 6th grade are head and shoulders above all other teams will anyone be able to stay with them ?

Seen the Coal Grove team play. Very good team all around. Could probably beat most 7th grade teams and some 8th grade teams also. Wheelersburg's 5th grade team made nice come back against Chillicothe but fell short. Not bad for team that only had 5 players there. I feel the officials did very good job. Good overall experience for first week.

I watched these two teams play each other yesterday in the Oak Hill tournament. Game wasn't even close. Coal Grove beat them by 20 some. Wheelersburg beat Ironton as well. Coal Grove is very very good. They have a group of boys that are just a little bit more mature physically than most 6th graders. They will be hard to beat for a year or two until everyone catches up.

Irontons missing starting pg and its hurting them. And best athlete on floor is Irontons center and CG has nothing on him physically. They will be some adjustments and be a different outcome Saturday and especially when pg gets bk.

Mylee's Missions, a Christmas event for children in need, will be taking place in the Old Gym on Saturday..

Ironton has their pg and now another starter out up top just trying to jell...not having the pg to handle the ball really is hurting but the team is making adjustments...I don't think it will be long before they will be back on top...the pg has a couple of weeks before he's back and the other starter should be back in about another week...so once this team is healthy look out..they got beat by the press at oak hill as their inexperience showed...cg is a very good team...probably the two best in the state.
