any updates from games. I got word Ironton got beat in a close one. I'm guessing subs played a lot as we have a lot of players. Anyone know what the 1st quarter score was ? Any info on Fairland , CG or South Point. ?

Ironton played the starters for two minutes, were up 9-2 when they started coming out. Coal Grove starters played whole game, played real well. A week will make a lot of difference in all teams. There is so much talent in southern Ohio in the 8th grade. Should be a real fun year to watch any of the local teams.

I figured the starters wasn't in much. Looking forward to starting the season and seeing our tigers go undefeated again. I think if they play to their capabilities they can finish with 18 or 19 wins. To many weapons.

Looks like that undefeated season won't happen!

Surprised to see that Ironton lost twice already. We all knew that everyone would catch up eventually size wise. Just didn't expect it this year!

Can't believe it either. With all the stuff posted on here the last couple years you would've thought they were unbeatable.

Ironton will be just fine. They can play with anyone as West saw in their scrimmage game, they aren't a slouch. Fairland and Coal Grove are both fine squads this season. Last year Ironton played this same Fairland group at Fairland and won by 1 pointat the last second. Fairland was the only team to beat Coal Grove last year too. In the Ironton vs Coal Grove game, there were numerous times that the game could have easily gone the other way. It was a 1 point game with less than a minute to play. Coal grove only lost once last season. Plenty of ball to play. I'm sure these teams will play tough against each other in their next game too as always. Three very talented squads.

Physically, kids are not at all catching up to them. Actually that had nothing to do with the outcome. Ironton was by far the bigger, quicker, stronger team in both games. What had everything to do with it was Fairland and Coal Grove played as a team and for whatever reason, this Ironton squad had not figured out yet that it isn't about individual numbers yet. Once they do, and they gel together, they will be tough to beat...that is...if they do.
