It was a battle early on with Ironton driving when one of their star running backs broke his ankle, who also played linebacker. Ironton has only five eighth graders so depth is an issue...from there it was tough Fairland scored one the first half and two off fumbles in the second half. Well played game by both squads. Ironton hadn't played a scrimmage yet, so they were learningvwho was wanting to play when it comes to game time. Fairland is big and runs the ball hard. Good first game, hopefully Ironton's back makes a quick recovery...good kid with a lot of talent.

I think Minford coming to Waverly should be a very good game in the 8th grade.
