Re: GLOBAL WARMING?
yeah where the heck is global warming???????? my icicles have icicles!!! Now here is a good one someone went to the zoo and the polar bears and penguins weren't out they asked about it and was told IT WAS TOOOOOO COLD FOR THEM!! WHAT THE HECK ?? Isn't there commercials on tv where they are begging for $$ to save the polar bears from global warming???
Re: GLOBAL WARMING?
GLOBAL WARMING is a long-term thing, not a day-to-day local area thing, and is really happening, has been, and poses a very real threat to our planet! PAY ATTENTION! THIS SCIENCE IS REAL!
Whether we set new high or low temp records on any given day here in our local Ohio area is immaterial to the long-term global statistics - which continue to demonstrate a steady increase in the warming trend of average year round temperatures all over the globe decade after decade - not day-to-day, month-to-month, or even year-to-year - which continues to deplete the polar ice caps and raise sea levels to increasingly destructive levels everywhere.Waves are higher and shore-lines are receeding. Yes, it's cold out now - but it's been colder - like back in the late '70's. And it's ben hotter, too. It's the general steady upward trend over the long term that is the worrisome thing!

Bingo!!! We have a winner. People just don't understand this when it gets down to below freezing they automatically say, 'Where's the Global Warming?". Sure it's cold here right now, but how many years in a row did we have temps in the mid 40's to upper 50's around this same time of year. Over the past 25+ years the average winter temps have risen a few degrees and that's cause by Global Warming.

Re: GLOBAL WARMING?
they are starting to prove that global warning is little more than a hoax, and al gore stands to become a multi billionairre as a result of it.
Re: GLOBAL WARMING?
Mercy! Who is this "they" you're quoting? Serious scientists? I doubt it. And "as a result" of what??
Al Gore has writtten books and made films based on scientific facts and measurable statistics. Choosing to deny/ignore those facts is the "hoax" that will end up costing us dearly in the long run.

Re: GLOBAL WARMING?
Global warming is nothing but a phase that the earth goes through. Its been repeated over and over again throughout the history of this planet. It is NOTHING new to the this world. It will take care of itself like it has always done in the past.
Re: GLOBAL WARMING?
Total nonsense, perpetrated by the ruling class to further fleece the sheep....nothing more. The science has been flatly debunked on man made globul worming.

Yeah, the "globul worming" has been a real problem. I must have stepped on 20 worms on my sidewalk a few weeks back after a rain. The birds are sure loving it though.

"One thing that all of us have a responsibility to do is recognize that climate change is here, it's real. That what we have to do is quit pointing fingers as to who's at fault and recognize that it's all our fault and it's all our responsibility to fix it.
I also support cap and trade of carbon emissions. And I was disappointed that the Senate rejected a carbon counting system to measure the sources of emissions, because that would have been the first and the most important step toward implementing true cap and trade."

Is global warming the truth or a hoax?
Dont know but I do know that if it is real, only politicians will profit from it.
The thing that makes me question the so called truth is why are some of the older scientists that are swearing that global warming is happening, some of the same ones that were swearing that global cooling (another ice age) was about to happen, back in the 70s?

IN other words, a cycle.....better yet, there aint a thing we can do about it, so why keep listening to a bunch of self serving money hounds that are only going to continue to destroy more jobs?noreply66 wrote:isn't the long time effect of global warming an ice age

Re: GLOBAL WARMING?
Most of us are heating with coal. There are coal fired generators all up and down the river heating thousands upon thousands of homes. At the current rate of consumption, we have enough coal to last another 200 years! You will see more and more advances in clean technologies in the industry. Have you seen the example where they pump the carbon dioxide produced by coal fired facilities into water and produce clean oxygen and millions of pounds of algae from it? All the algae needs is water, sunlight and carbon dioxide. This can be used for animal feed and fertilizer. This is just one example of how we can live safely with coalnoreply66 wrote:bring back coal to heat with
Re: GLOBAL WARMING?
Until we can acknowledge the facts that are scientific figures as a group and move on, we will not be able to explore why and where warming comes from. Some people are still in denial about simple numbers, mainly because it took Al Gore to spend tons of money to prove what has been evident for several years. I guess even if science is involved, people let politics stand in the way of knowledge. To me it is common sense in part that man has a part simply because our body temps are 98.6 and the world is more populated now than ever, also anyone working in concrete can tell you that concrete holds more heat than earth and lord knows were are forever adding concrete structure to the globe. Those won't make a huge difference but a difference none-the-less. Temps run in trends, history tells us that, please tell me that we are willing to learn from history and prevent future mistakes. As individuals we "live and learn" but as a whole or in cultures we deny history and make the same mistakes.
