Excellent choice!TigerTownTurkey wrote:A River Runs Through It............... Norman Maclean (1976)
" Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.

Again - I agree! Don't we all quote/remember Dr. Suess and include his phrases/references in our everyday cultural adult language more than any other author? And isn't he delightful to read both to yourself and out loud to your kids? And doesn't hearing language spoken, read, or sung to them from a very early age improve a child's understanding/learning ability? ABSOLUTELYOrange and Brown wrote:Anything by Dr. Suess!

Agree - and thought the movie adaptation was great also.TigerTownTurkey wrote:Seabiscuit........ Laura Hillenbrand (2001)
I have given book/movie combos as Christmas gifts esp to teenage boys.
I have used Jack London, O Henry, and others before - I'll consider this combo in the future.
