Answer: John Shoemaker, Waverly Tigers, 1974 grad. He Went to Miami (Oh) and helped the 1978 Redskins basketball team upset defending champion Marquette and they lost to eventual champion Kentucky in the NCAA Tourney. He has held numerous positions in coaching, managing and player development with the Dodgers since that time and I think he's still managing in their farm system now.

I believe he only played one year of football. He was an effective QB but awkward at it as he had no prior gridiron experience. We will never how great a QB he could have been if basketball had not been his primary high school sport.
