Re: Canceled TV shows....
I never watched it but I love watching Law & Order: SVU. I am glad it wasn't canceled.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
ABC has axed Romantically Challenged, which is another example of a show whose viewers tried to save it with petitions, etc. to the network. However, the nets have learned the lessons of Jericho, and won't un-cancel a show whose Neilsens just don't warrant continuing it. Thus, it's a waste of time, effort, and $$ to tryta get a net to renew a cancelled show.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
CBS is taking down the sets for Numb3rs, which is a sure sign that show is dead. Not a bad show, but its Neilsens have been slipping.

Yeah, it's a terrific show, made so by its great cast, especially Meloni and Hargitay. The old L&O and Homicide stars don't hurt it, either.
As I said above, it'd be nice if they found a place for Sam Waterston in SVU.
If ya like SVU, you'll prolly like the original L&O as well. especially those from about 10 years back.

I might start watching it. I can't stand watching episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent because of the character Robert Goren. He irritates me. I have tried to watch it but he really gets on my nerves quickly.

Re: Canceled TV shows....
Sadly, it is being reported that CBS has pulled the plug on Cold Case, which was one of my favorite shows. The 10 PM Sunday time slot is tough, and during football season, alot of episodes were postponed due to the 4 PM CBS game running over and pushing all the prime time programming back.
I hope that the show is given a second life and picked up by another network, that gives it a decent time slot. If not, it was a good six year run. Hate to see quality programming like this get the axe.

Re: "Law & Order" cancelled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Misteroby wrote:I saved a special post for this...the venerable Law And Order is now officially cancelled & will air its final original episode on May 24. Its ratings had been slipping the last coupla seasons, but there were several straws that broke the camel's back. The main straw was a breakdown in negotiations with Dick Wolfe over trimming costs (and his profits) for new eps. Another major straw was the impending departure of S. Epatha Merkerson, one of the "pillars" of the show since 1993, who wished to scale down her working life.(She is a diabetic in real life.)
Still, it's sad to see this show go. It took me from middle age to senior citizenship. To me, the best eps were those with Orbach and Noth as the cops. I didn't know whether or not it would survive the departure of Michael Moriarty as Exec ADA Ben Stone, but Sam Waterston soon made us almost forget Moriarty. And who can forget the hotties playing the ADAs under Stone & Mc Coy such as Angie harmon, Carey Lowell, etc?
Good news, however...the entire L&O series will soon be available on DVD, and the show "L&O:SVU" is going strong, and will continue to do so, long as Meloni & Hargitay play the main cops.
I hope SVU finds a place for Waterston if he cares to join that show, as it did for Dann Florek(Capt. Cragen), and Richard Belzer & Ice T(Munch & Fin from Homicide: Life On The Streets).
I bid a fond farewell to the old original L&O: I & millions of others will be watching you in syndication & on DVD.
One of my all time favorite shows!!! I love Law and Order!

Unfortunately, you're right, SD..."Cold Case" is finished. I liked it also, but there were simply too many procedural/forensics shows for them ALL to survive. So it loox as if "CC and "Law & Order" are the sacrificial lambs.

Sometimes the "Hallmark Channel" has'em. That's all I know of. Ya might Google the show to find some elsewhere. After all, it ran for 6 seasons, with plenty of eps available.

So do I! I'll be wasting $$ on DVDs when they come out!
Meanwhile, gotta love that SVU!
Re: Canceled TV shows....
That paragon of great, heavily-watched nets, the CW, has announced this will be the last season of "Smallville". But shoot, it's in its 10th season, and all good things must end. BTW, this season will be a full one, & the show will almost certainly be seen in syndication and on DVDs.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
The CW has cancelled "The Beautiful Life" after a coupla eps were aired to horrible ratings; it's doubtful that the unaired eps will be shown.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
The CW has dumped the goshawful reality show Hitched Or Ditched. Garbage, shoulda never aired.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
The CW has had so many horrible reality shows it aint funny. They dumped another one, Fly Girls, about a groupa female airline employees. More garbage that shoulda never aired.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
The CW has cancelled yet another pieca krap reality show, High Society, what followed a groupa wealthy "In-Crowders". Yet more garbage that shoulda never aired.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
The CW has officially decided against airing Blonde Charity Mafia, a show about a trio of young lady do-gooders in Washington DC's high society. Critix said the show was as poor as its name, so we were spared THAT trash, anyway.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
The CW has cancelled its version of Melrose Place. This redux wasn't nearly as good as the original; it was a complete ratings flop after its premeir ep aired & was quickly tuned out midway through by mosta its viewers.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
As mosta you know, the final ep of Lost airs May 23. This show's end was announced a year in advance, remember, with its makers promising closure, and a fitting dynamite ending.
