my most heartbreaking moment has to be when i was a freshman and my team was in a basketball postseason tournament and the score was tied(i can't remember the exact score), there was about 3 seconds left on the clock and there was a loose ball i dove on the floor and called a timeout not knowing we had none left, the other team shot 2 and hit both and won the game!!!!(so i pulled a chris webber, and felt like crap for about a week for doing it) but i was a freshman and i'm pretty sure i never called a timeout again!!!!!!!

As a Bengals fan: Montana to Taylor, Nuff Said

As a Buckeye Fan: 98 Michigan State

On a personal note: Loosing all those Whiffle Ball games to my buddy Billy (holandkat) Bruce!!! I had decent stuff, A Southpaw with a nice 12-6 curveball, I just didn't have a good stick!!!

Two defeats by the Cowboys against Pittsburgh in the superbowl.

Tribe losing two W/S in recent times.

1999 Basketball State Championship

Philo vs Kettering Alter. We didn't even win our league but 3 of the starters & 2 others off the bench went on to play college ball.

Up 3 with 10 seconds left they shoot a desperation shot & miss & somehow with three of out 4, 6'6 players we don't come up with the long rebound & they get it, kid dribbles out to the top of the key & makes a fadeaway desperation. They replay it in the arena & his foot is clearly on the line. Go onto overtime where we lose by 2. The coach we had Todd Van Reeth(son of Jack who is Ohio's all time wins leader & the only coach to have a State Title with a girls team & a boys team) has coached Dallas Lauderdale(now a buckeye) at Solon until his retirement last season.

1993- ND vs Boston College. It felt like a kick in the nuts.
As a coach, it was 1986 - St. Joe vs Oak Hill. We (SJ) we were inside the Oaks 10 yard line and fumbled . We lost 8-7, it was our 1st loss. Hdfatboy, I remember that speech ;-)

Three of them come to mind for me.

The first one is for gahs.

1.) The 76 loss to Gallia Academy on the infamous 34 and no more night.

2.) The Ironton loss to Akron St. Vincent in the State Finals in '82.

3.) The most heartbreaking to me was the '99 loss to Perkins.

Speaking of Astros, one of my personal low moments was against those darn 'Stros. I was 10 years old pitching in the LL championship with a 2-1 lead with 2 out in the top of the 6th. TTT's son hit one to the gap and brought home 2 runs. We lost 3-2. Thankfully we had Larry Collins to pitch the next game of the championship series to win the whole thing, but I was still crushed with the loss in game 2.

Worst SJ memory was losing to Green in the Sectional Tournament on a buzzer beater. It was my senior season and my last game. I've never been one to bash officials but I still remember the two morons who didn't call what could have been an offensive foul on that game winner; but I'm not bitter.

Hdfatboy, I will always feel bad over your injury for that body check I gave you in McDonalds on the way home from the game. I had no idea that you were hurt plus it was the hardest I had hit anyone that entire football season.

Not many bad memories as a fan as I am usually drinking while watching sports so I don't remember many of the outcomes. Although, as a youngster, I do remember one bad memory as a fan. The older kids in my neighborhood took on some kids on the other end of town in a World Series type matchup in whiffle ball. Our neighborhood lost 4 games to 3. That was pretty tough to take as I realized all the older kids in my neighborhood sucked at whiffle ball.

Let's not forget the fact that on the coast to coast drive the two morons didn't call him for two walk/carry calls. But, who's bitter?

You should have drafted me. That way I could have sat the bench for you instead of Frank McCown!!!

As a spectator, watching Ohio State et beat by Forida in both Championships last year.

Seeing Palmer go down in the playoffs against the Steelers.

And as a player, having Portsmouth score 14 unanswered in the 2nd half of the final game of my Jr. igh Career. We were undefeated since 6th grade up until that point.
