Oil Futures Rise to $100 a Barrel

Post by LICKING COUNTY FAN »

The White House on Wednesday said it would not release oil from the nation's strategic reserves to drive prices lower.

As of early November, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve contained 694 million barrels of oil. The government is working to fill it to its 727 million barrel capacity.

Imagine that Bush not wanting to do the correct thing here and help out the AMERICAN PEOPLE.

Of course not....it doesn't affect him or his family in a negative way.

They will just become wealthier.

I think his intent IS to help the American people IN THE LONG RUN. I think that reserve was put there for EMERGENCY situations.... not to save you and me a couple of bucks a week
If they open that reserve up and we use it all to save a few bucks each, what do you think will happen when the middle east knows we are out of oil?? It would probably go to $400-$500 a barrel from them then.

BTW.... Have you SACRIFICED any at all by cutting down on your hundreds and thousands of miles to go to KIDS (which you have none playing) ball games? Maybe you could try listening to a few on the radio to save your pennies and our oil.

Just a thought.

I have cut back and the prices still are going up not only at the pump but at the grocery store and everywhere else. What is the % of robberies cause times are hard?? Bet they have risen.. Everytime the barrel of oil goes up so does the cost of everything

Many have cut back but we all know that will do nothing to keep the prices from going up. On one of the am stations today they were saying we have enough in reserve(fuel) to last this country 100 years going by the average we use per day and after the USA stops buying from the middle east in about six months the USA could dictate how much we wanted to buy a barrel for.

I remember this being said a few times last year but nothing ever happens as far as helping the AMERICAN people right now.

My brother works for Marathon and he said the same thing about all the oil we have in reserves.

We can't do anything about alternative fuel sources until the government takes this seriously and makes it happen.

I certainly can't build my own alternative fuel vehicle.

I posted a thread on here over the summer about a guy who built an engine the runs on water.

Times are hard??? The average American is more affluent today than anytime in U.S. history.

So times are hard

Every walmart parking lot is always full

Go to Krogers and people have there carts full

How many people bought new flat panel monitors to replace there old bulky moniters this year

Just about every kid in school has a cell phone

Can people live without internet and cable

How many people have more than 1 vehicle
