Anyone know how much it costs to get a xbox 360 repaired?
mine got the red rings today and im wondering how much it costs if you dont have the recipt for your purchase

my son -in- law called a toll free number on the box I do believe not sure how much it cost.. If I talk to them I will find out...

I'd say if you bought a new unit & it didn't work, the store that sold it is obligated to either replace it or refund all your money, under the law of "implied warranty of merchantability", that is, a product one buys must be fit to perform its intended function. USED units generally carry no warranyy nor guarantee of any kind.
My son purchased a unit that worked for 7 months, then refused to show any video. Microsoft replaced the unit free of charge. Naturally, we have no idea what they did with the old one, but most likely it went into a grinder somewhere.

you can call 1-800-4-my-xbox. They will send you a shipping box free of charge to get repaires. It usually takes 3-6 weeks top get repairs back.
Make sure it is 1 or 3 red rings. Those are hardware failures. 2 rings means the box is overheated and 4 means some things are unplugged or not plugged in correctly.
