CHARLESTON — George Strait has just left the building in Charleston, and the Civic Center isn’t letting the country dust settle.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 29, to one of the red-hot country touring shows of ‘08.

The April 11 concert will feature a double-blast of young country from Grammy Award winners Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood.

Two of the hottest acts on the charts, Underwood and Urban are out on the road together in ’08 on a 24-city tour.

“Love, Pain & the whole crazy Carnival Ride Tour,” a name that combines the titles of each artist’s most recent album; Urban’s double platinum No. 1 debuting Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing and Underwood’s recent No. 1 debut second album Carnival Ride, will feature 12 No. 1 songs (seven for Urban and five from Underwood). There is no question that this tour combines the music of two of the music industry’s most powerful performers.

“I’m looking forward to hitting the road with Carrie, and to bringing our audiences together for what I think will be a magical night of sights, sounds, songs and solos,” said Urban in a release.

“I can’t think of a better person to begin 2008 with than Keith,” Underwood said in a release. “He is an amazing entertainer and a well-respected musician, singer and songwriter.”
