In the spirit of the day, a lyric from Tool...

Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow.
Let me lay my holy hand upon you.

I'm more of a SOAD guy. Tool's ok, but not the answer to the universal eargasim.

As if being in Tool and a Perfect Circle and Puscifer wasn't enough to keep Maynard James Keenan busy, he's also been hard at work in Arizona (as previously reported) both with his new retail store and with his ever-expanding winemaking. "I have grape juice under my fingernails as we speak," Keenan tells Spinner.

Next up? A local market in Cornville, AZ. Keenan plans on revamping a previously existing organic produce market with a commercial kitchen and a tasting room for his wine labels. "I've been working with a few chefs around the Southwest, learning how to make spaghettis and pastas and gnocchis and various soup stocks," Keenan says. "We're going to be packaging our own stuff right there and serving it fresh with the tastings."

With all his hands-on business ventures, it's hard not to imagine that his main gig as Tool's frontman has become, in-fact, just another side-project. "In reality, I was doing many of these things prior to Tool," Keenan says. "That's the one that got really popular, so it seems like the only thing I've ever done because it's the only thing you've heard of me doing. But they all get as much of my energy and focus as each other."

Eat organic, drink good wines, sell artistic wares, then scream your heart out about disturbing nightmares and deep-seated issues. Repeat. For Maynard James Keenan, that seems to be his perfect circle.
