About figure skating? I think I read that a while back, but I don't have a good memory of it.
I read so much but my memory is so poor - sometimes I have to go back and re-read a little to catch myself up if I've been away from a book for a little while. That's the beauty of a BOOK - you can lay it down; and then with little effort pick it back up later and refresh your memory.
I always have a book going and on hand - sometimes more than one - it takes nothing [well maybe a little light] to start reading then pause and restart however much later the same book.

I just finished Hell Is Empty - a Sheriff Walt Longmire mystery by Craig Johnson. Here's a quote I think some of you might relate to.
After a harrowing, nearly fatal, pursuit of a bad guy up a mountain in a blizzard, Sheriff Walt Longmire is recuperating sitting outside in the sun on his deck:

"The only part of me that was free to move was my right arm, which I was exercising by doing twelve-ounce curls in an attempt to balance my electrolytes. Cady [his daughter] thought I was balancing my electrolytes too much and wouldn't allow me to have a cooler on the deck anymore."

His chief deputy is a female named Victoria - called Vic. Her father and grandfather are both named Victor, and her extended Italian family refers to them collectively as Vic the Father; Vic the Son; and Vic the Holy Terror.

It's little touches like that that make a book stick in your mind. Love it!

I have read and enjoyed other Stephen Ambrose books, but I'm not familiar with that one - it's on my library list now - I'll hunt it up. Libraries are good for that!
