Satellite radio is the way to go. I travel so it's great to not have to search for stations. I like classic rock, outlaw country, some folk, some bluegrass and contemporary jazz. And when I'm mellow, it has to be Sweet Baby James or Jim Croce. Also, try Nancy Griffith if you've never heard her.

Anything prior to 1990. They haven't made much good music since then worth listening to

Boy you got that right! The Dr.Feelgood and Steelheart's last record before the singer got injured on stage was it for me then it all went bad for the rock genre

I mostly listen to 107.5 The Breeze which is Classic Rock.
I also tune itno 106.3 which plays a lot of new rock as well as the old stuff.
I also have been listening to 104.1 which is NPR and they play a lot of Blues, Folk, and a lot of things you normally wouldn't hear.
I don't listen to Rap, Country, Emo, or any Pop.

Re: When tuning in to the radio what music do you listen to?
Boy, I listen to radio very little any more. If I do, it is Z106 or 103.1 the Bear out of Parkersburg, and 105.1 out of Charleston. I also tune into Retro 92.1 out of Pomeroy (big shout out to Hardfowl!), when I'm home. There has been so little new music over the last 10-12 years worth listening to, and the talking heads on the radio, well, they just make me want to puke.
So, for me it is, classic rock, new music if it rocks hard (and actually sounds like music, not garbage), news, some sports, but mostly my IPOD in the car now.
Thank God Soundgarden came out with the first good album in over 10 years (from any artist). Now I have something to put on my Christmas list!
Oh, and I will listen to old country anytime I can catch it. This new "country" is for the most part, crappy pop/rock. And it isn't good.
That said, any good Blues or Soul music, I'll listen to 24/7. But, there ain't much of that on the airwaves in Southern Ohio.
