Are they ever going to get the old theater going again? Ol dr. woltz says it needs brought back to draw more people downtown again. He just wasting his time trying to get that thing going again. It will never be like it once was. Things are so much different now. Now the old drive-in on Hocking Dr. might be different, he needs to spend his energy on that. That one in Lancaster does crazy business! On Friday night the cars are lined clear back up 22 waiting to get in.

Like to see that old drive-in back in business. Bring back the good ole days down there. They had great sloppy joes and beef barbecue sammies. You could get the barbasol out again too, Bolt.cbolt wrote: Sun Jun 03, 2018 6:59 pm Are they ever going to get the old theater going again? The people that own the old drive in are thinking about opening up. Didn't say when. First movie will be back to the future.

Howard’s and Leon’s. Many memories. I was originally an East end kid who spent a lot of time at Howard’s and when we moved to N. Walnut St., saw a lot of Leons.
The drive end also has lots of memories. However the town has changed tremendously since graduating in 1962.

Does anyone from Logan remember Shultz grocery on Zanesville Avenue? Might have closed in the early 60s. Was another store out the road across from the old gas station. Think it was in the mid 50 when it closed. Gas station became the Railroad express and then Oldtown pizza ran by the Farrar's. Goose creek still runs under Oldtown Pizza today with a little alternations. Goose creek comes out back of South Culver and empties into the Hocking.

What was the name of the gas station that use to be across Main St from the fire station? I can't think of it. The old police building use to set close to where the fire station is now.

Inboden's Marathon
In the 50s there was a very large green house that sat there. They moved that big house down Main Street right across the railroad tracks on the left must been four families living in it at one time before they tore it down. Right now it is a empty lot.
Where the Speedway is at on front Street was a big white house. In the 60s they moved that house down second street right across the railroad track on the right It is still there and has been redone. On a side note I have been told the house was moved from the Inn Towner lot?????????????

Before the police station was in the big brick house where the fire station is at now, it was where it is now with the fire station beside it. Think the fire station held one truck. Also from the drive-thur bank to Mulberry was Firestones then not in order a couple stores and the cab station. On the corner building which is still there was the library.TRENCHFOOT wrote: Thu Jul 05, 2018 9:33 pm What was the name of the gas station that use to be across Main St from the fire station? That's pretty cool. Man, how things change over time. I think I remember the cab station but not sure.

Let me tell you, I spent a huge amount of time in the old library on the corner as a kid. Fascinated with the aquariums, kids section for books and some hangouts ( Rischs drugstore for sodas and Log Cabin for sandwiches) nearby . I not only improved my reading ability and quest for knowledge, but was grounded in pursuit of education because of that old library. B.A. and M.A. soon followed.
