Canceled TV shows....
Re: Canceled TV shows....
Fans are mounting a "Save Las Vegas" campaign, similar to the one which brought Jericho back to CBS. They're sending execs baby booties, etc. because they wanna know how Delinda's pregnancy comes out.
However, the odds aren't good that LV will get an ending with closure. The execs need only to look at Jericho's #s since it returned. It only drew 6.9 million viewers, with a low rating among adults ages 18-49, the demographic sponsors most crave, following the gosh-awful Big Brother , with 6.6 million viewers, and up against the NBC's dud Quarterlife , which drew only 3.86 viewers. While BB mighta hurt it, there simply aren't enough fans of Jericho to keep it another season, even if it were following a hit such as NCIS. And Las Vegas' #s have only been comparable to the renewed Jericho's this season.
My predictions:
1.) Look for Quarterlife to soon unceremoniously exit.
2.) Jericho will finish this season, but it'll be its last.
3.) Big Brother will finish this season, but won't be brought back into the regular fall/winter season again. Unfortunately, this reality trash will once again pollute the airwaves this summer, even though I'd liketa see it gone for good.
4.) I believe we've seen the lasta Cavemen.
5.) Carpoolers will be whacked any day, along with My Dad is Better than Your Dad & Welcome to the Captain.
6.) Friday Night Lights will move to another network. (Hopefully, not to either the CW or Mynetwork, both of which may fold soon.)

Re: Canceled TV shows....
Well, one prediction came to pass:
NBC's "Quarterlife" has made history as one of an elite number of shows that were cancelled by a major net after airing just one episode. This show, about the life of an online writer & her friends, drew only 3.86 million viewers for that one ep, Tuesday, 2/26/08, & even that miniscule number dropped during its airing.
The series was conceived by Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick, the creative team behind such flop shows as Thirtysomething, Once and Again, and My So-Called Life. I guess its low price & the writers' strike is what led NBC to give it a try, because its creators aren't exactly known as hit makers.
Another one bites the dust...

Re: Canceled TV shows....
Has anyone heard anything yet on Friday Night Lights moving to another network? I have heard the rumors, but things have been quiet here lately!

Re: Canceled TV shows....
i hear FNL is gonna pardner up with DirecTV. If so, I hope they're more devoted to it than they were with the soap opera Passions.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
The CW had dumped Life Is Wild, but apparently not too many folx will miss it.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
I dunno if anyone here watches the "MSNBC" net(I don't), but it's dropped its Tucker Carlson Show, a news/commentary show, in favor of a political prog to take advantage of the Presidential race. Given the low ratings for TC, it won't be back when the election's over.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
CBS has cancelled Jericho for the second, and likely final, time. It simply didn't have enough viewers.
The series finale airs next week, so if ya like this show, be sure to catch it, cuz tha-tha-tha-tha-that's all, folx!

Re: Canceled TV shows....
Fox has cancelled The Return of Jezebel James, effective immediately, after only 3 eps aired. Its ratings were terrible, with barely 3 million viewers after its premiere.
There are four remaining unaired eps. Fox hasn't said what will become of them, other than they won't be aired on the network.

Re: Canceled TV shows....
The producers of Passions have thrown in the towel...they informed the cast & crew yesterday that the show was over; their efforts to fine another medium to pick up the show were unsuccessful.
For fans of this show, there are enough eps in the can to keep it running through August this year. But that's, all, folx.

Re: Canceled TV shows....
The Sci-Fi channel has dropped its Flash Gordon series. It compared unfavorably to earlier shows, movies, & serials starring the intergalactic hero, & its ratings stunk.

NBC has cancelled Scrubs, but it MIGHT get picked up by ABC. No word yet...

why wont they just let them finish out this season since its their last?
Re: Canceled TV shows....
I think they ARE allowing it to finish the season; it just won't be back on NBC after this season.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
Yet another show has joined the ranx of "One-Ep-Wonders", cancelled after airing but once. CBS cancelled Secret Talents Of The Stars today, effective immediately.
This show was hastily thrown together during the writers' strike, & was so bad it never shoulda aired. It barely drew 4 million viewers, an embarrassment for a major net. Apparently, the show didn't have any talent, secret or open, for drawing viewers.
Good Riddance.

Re: Canceled TV shows....
The star power of Raquel Welch and Jeff Tambor wasn't enough to draw viewers to CBS' Welcome To The Captain. This show was given the heave-ho after 5 eps. This goes that not even Emeril can make good soup from rotten tomatoes.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
ESPN is finished with the boxing show The Contender. As usual, its execs say they're gonna find another net to carry it, but that's quite unlikely. No major net will fool with it, and the network-ettes can't afford the initial cost.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
Loox as if the CW net is ending Beauty & The Geek after this season...THANK GOODNESS!
Re: Canceled TV shows....
ABC has just cancelled Men In Trees. While not a bad show, it simply couldn't draw enough viewers.

Star power from Jeff Tambor?

Raquel Welch....Yes....but Jeff Tambor....No.
