Congrats to everyone for your hard work, perseverance, and success. On Feb 2 it will be a year since I quit smoking. Now I really have to get back to strictly low-carb eating which worked for me before. I need to lose about 50 lbs - 20 of which I never lost in the first place and the 30 which I have regained over the last couple of years of backsliding and indulgent eating.
Do any of you use exercise tapes/DVD's? I have balance and mobility problems, but I have found a few low-impact fitness DVD's that meet my needs and limitations.
Shed The Pounds with Kathy Smith is a great buy. It is 3 older tapes combined on 1 DVD and has over 2 hrs of 20-30 minute segments. I can keep up with most - on a toning segment there is one person in the background group shown using a chair back for balance to do all the moves.
Dance Off The Inches - I like both the Hip Hop Party and the Tummy Tone Party Zone. They both have a slowed-down step-teaching segment in addition to the whole routine.
Cardio For Beginners with Petra Kolber is also good for me with 2 10-minute and 2 20-minute segments that you can mix and match depending on your time and endurance.
I have really been trying to do at least 20 minutes a day, and my legs are telling me about it! I hope to get the routines memorized enough that I won't even have to put on the DVD but can just get up and do the exercises [instead of sitting on the couch] while watching TV.

I don't usually do dvd's and such. I'm not opposed to them, but, found success in going to the Fitness Center downtown, or riding my bike or hiking. I can't wait to exercise again! What a great natural appetite suppressant and boost to energy! I know there are some great exercise dvd's out there, a lot of weight watcher members use them.

When I first stared this as you know from my postings I was 273 pounds. My pants were a size 44(I did need a belt for them but a 42 would not fit)Today I tried on size 34 jeans and they woudl button. I can't really wear them yet because they were so hard to unbutton.

I wanted to share my good news with the rest of yall who are losing weight.

That's awesome orange-n-brown 365.

Everyone doing this great work.

My brother and I have slowly started adding some of the Shaun T Insanity cardio workouts into our program and they are by far the hardest thing I have ever attempted to do as far as cardio workouts go.

The year 2009 is over.

It seems it would be time for a 2010 thread for this topic.
