Re: Canceled TV shows....
Why in the hell did they cancel great cartoons like 'Beanie & Cecil," "Ruff 'n Ready," "Rocko's Modern Life," and "Top Cat"?

I can't think of the name of the show, but there was a cop show on a few years back on ABC that I liked but they cancelled.

The Unusuals?
Life of Mars?
Evidence? (I think thats the name of a show. They showed you the evidence at the beginning of the episode.)
Those are 3 ABC Cop show i can think of right now.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
ABC Family has cancelled "Lincoln Heights", a show about a street cop's family life. Who watcher "ABC Family" anyhow?
Re: Canceled TV shows....
Comedy Central has cancelled "Michael And Michael have Issues" after only seven eps. I never saw it & it doesn't appear I missed anything there.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
Fox has announced the series finale of "24" will air May 24. It's ending, not being cancelled per se.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
MTV is ending its show "The Hills". (I quit watching MTV when they left off showing music videos in favor of all those junky reality shows.)
Re: Canceled TV shows....
The venerable "at the movies" is ending. Originally "Siskel & Ebert", it has undergone several host changes after Siskel's 1999 death from a brain tumor, and Ebert's treatment for thyroid cancer.
It will run thru Aug. 2010 with its current hosts. And, BTW, Ebert plans a new TV show of similar content.

Re: Canceled TV shows....
Fox is dumping two more shows..."Til Death" has reached its death on May 19; "Sons of Tucson", I believe, is already gone. Two more unfunny 'comedies' are shown the door...
Re: Canceled TV shows....
One show I'll miss is ending on Apr. 30..."Bill Moyers Journal" on PBS, dueta the retirement of Mr. Moyers.

Re: Canceled TV shows....
I'm still peeved they did away with my favorite cartoon on Nickelodeon, 'Rocko's Modern Life,' so I had to go on eBay and buy all 52 episodes on DVD. It's awesome baby.

Many of them had "run their course" & the cartoonists themselves moved on to other projects.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
Loox as if "American Chopper" will return after all! While father & son Teutuls haven't completely patched up their rift, they are now running separate shops with no conflict, & the show will feature eps from each one.
Another One Bites the Dust...
Loox as if "Legend Of The Seeker" will no longer be seeking, ABC recently announced.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
ABC Family has cancelled "10 Things I Hate About You", but the remaining 5 eps in the can will air between now and May 31. (Who watches that smarmy channel anyway?)
NBC Swings the Axe...
The Great American Road Trip bites the dust...Not a bad show for a reality show, but couldn't pull enuff Neilsens.
Here Come The Newlyweds..Trash, shoulda never aired...won't be missed.
Heroes...Drastic fall-off in Neilsens doomed it.
Jay Leno Show...Badly-failed experiment...
Kings...A good show that people simply didn't watch.
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Outta Here! Trash! NBC shoulda never brought it over from ABC. It shoulda remained in the garbage can where it belongs.
The Listener...Too many paramedic/medical shows airing; something had to go. Not enuff Neilsens.
Mercy...Not enuff Neilsens.
Merlin...not a bad show; not enuff Neilsens for NBC, but it was picked up by Syfy.
The Philanthropist...None of the "Millionaire" imitations has ever caught on with the viewing public.
Southland...Axed by NBC, but picked up by TNT for at least one more season.
The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien...Part of the failed experiment with Leno.
Trauma...Too muchuva 'soap opera', not enuff action, not very high quality, couldn't capture the former viewers of Third Watch.

"Law & Order" cancelled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saved a special post for this...the venerable Law And Order is now officially cancelled & will air its final original episode on May 24. Its ratings had been slipping the last coupla seasons, but there were several straws that broke the camel's back. The main straw was a breakdown in negotiations with Dick Wolfe over trimming costs (and his profits) for new eps. Another major straw was the impending departure of S. Epatha Merkerson, one of the "pillars" of the show since 1993, who wished to scale down her working life.(She is a diabetic in real life.)
Still, it's sad to see this show go. It took me from middle age to senior citizenship. To me, the best eps were those with Orbach and Noth as the cops. I didn't know whether or not it would survive the departure of Michael Moriarty as Exec ADA Ben Stone, but Sam Waterston soon made us almost forget Moriarty. And who can forget the hotties playing the ADAs under Stone & Mc Coy such as Angie harmon, Carey Lowell, etc?
Good news, however...the entire L&O series will soon be available on DVD, and the show "L&O:SVU" is going strong, and will continue to do so, long as Meloni & Hargitay play the main cops.
I hope SVU finds a place for Waterston if he cares to join that show, as it did for Dann Florek(Capt. Cragen), and Richard Belzer & Ice T(Munch & Fin from Homicide: Life On The Streets).
I bid a fond farewell to the old original L&O: I & millions of others will be watching you in syndication & on DVD.

Re: Canceled TV shows....
At least for now, the remake of The Rockford Files is dead. NBC was not satisfied with the pilot show.
Re: Canceled TV shows....
Fox has cancelled Sons Of Tucson, but plans to burn off nine unaired eps this summer. I don't think too many folx actually care...
