So let me get this straight.
The young ones are George Bailey and the Savings & Loan who are standing up for the common man while Potter is the decaying one who is greedy and does not care about the public's desire to live safely.
Well, I am sorry because you have it all wrong.
You see it is not a wonderful life for a morally bankrupt country. It simply cannot exist. Oh, it might exist in some shell of a form but eventually we will get taken over due to our enormous debts or ineffective management of our vices.
This is just the tip of the iceberg if the Supreme Court allows this at the Federal level.
There will be a civil war if this inept system continues to transform our country into a vast wasteland.

Mexico’s Supreme Court Rules In Favor Of Same-Sex Marriage
2012/12/07
Global Post and Salon have reported that on Wednesday, a unanimous decision by Mexico’s Supreme Court ruled that southern Oaxaca’s law banning same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. This ruling will pave the way for same-sex couples to marry in Oaxaca and eventually the rest of Mexico. The tribunal struck down the Oaxaca state law that declares that “one of the purposes of marriage is the perpetuation of the species.â€
The court ruled that limiting marriage to the union of one man and one woman “violates the principle of equality.â€
This ruling makes Oaxaca the second locale in Mexico to have legalized same-sex marriage. Currently, same-sex marriage is only legal in Mexico City, where a same-sex marriage law was enacted in 2010.
The court’s ruling came from a lawsuit that was filed by three gay couples against the state of Oaxaca. Oaxacan law student, Alex Alà Méndez DÃaz, represented the couples even though other LGBT activists in the state predicated failure.
Activists “said Oaxaca wasn’t ready for those discussions,†Méndez said.. “So I said, ‘Fine, if the collective won’t do this as a collective, well, I’m the only lawyer [in the group]. I’ll do it.â€
Méndez initially met one of the couples while working with the Oaxacan Front for the Respect and Recognition of Sexual Diversity [Frente Oaxaqueño por el Respeto y el Reconocimiento de la Diversidad Sexual].
After carefully examining the Supreme Court ruling that upheld Mexico City’s marriage ordinance, Méndez decided he could build a case in Oaxaca.
“The document seemed to me to be extraordinary,†Méndez said in an interview in Oaxaca City last week. His interpretation of the ruling was that “family†rights in the Mexican constitution are not restricted “only to a family of a father, a mother, and children, but also to whatever other form of family.â€
While the case was in progress, the Inter-American Court ruled that the American Convention on Human Rights “prohibits … any rule, act, or discriminatory practice based on sexual orientation.†The case involved a Chilean lesbian who was denied custody of her children because she is gay (Karen Atala Riffo y Niñas v. Chile). Ruling from international courts count as legal precedents in Mexican courts.
Salon writer J. Lester Feder wrote that the decision may have been influenced by international law. The Inter-American Court and the American Convention on Human Rights “prohibits … any rule, act, or discriminatory practice based on sexual orientation.â€
It’s ironic to me that our neighbor to the south, generally viewed by most Americans as “inferior†and a third-world country, is ahead of us on this key civil rights issue. John Aravosis of AMERICAblog is in agreement.
“I never cease to be amazed at how many countries, and which countries, around the world are ahead of the US on this basic civil and human right. I grew up being taught that America was the greatest and freest country on earth…. I’m still blown away that in traditionally Catholic countries, and Latin countries to boot, marriage equality is proceeding ahead of the US.â€
Same-sex couples will not immediately be able to marry throughout Mexico. Mexico has a longer legal process for overturning statutes than the United States does. Details of the written ruling have not been published.

You had it right the first time. I guess half of young evangelicals are "morally bankrupt" by your standards???
50 years ago, some people thought interracial marriages were "morally bankrupt".
Oh the times they are a changin'!

Romans 1st Chapter says:
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Young evangelicals who believe in homosexuality as acceptable have lost their way.

Again, what Abutt & his own kind, doesn't want to admit or accept is that we are not advocation or trying to stop civil unions, we just will not accept gay marriage. We can say, 'they're in a civil union' but we cannot, as Christians (or other religions) say that two people of the same sex are married.
The one and only reason that many are trying to force this country to accept gay marriage is to attempt to make it morally correct. It will not

I do not believe the Court rules broadly on this case. They will either vote it down or approve a very narrow definition. I'll live with whatever they rule as a law-abiding American. What disturbs me are the comments that advocate civil disobedience up to civil war if the Court does not rule a certain way. How rational!

I just know that this will occur if all 50 states have to abide by it.
The line will be drawn in the sand somewhere. It is my opinion that it will be drawn here.

Re: West Point Same Sex Marriage
It does not matter, if or what the Christian God said, if you are not a Christian , or a Christian who believes we are not to judge......Luckily our framers knew marriage was not a realm for federal law......And if Scalia and his cronies are men of their word, they will not vote against same sex marriage, as it is not in the Constitution......Scalia and his minions are originalists, and believe if it is not in the Constitution it is not a Federal issue..........imho, the only way they could rule is in favor of same sex marriage, based on the 14th amendment that says, states are forbidden to "deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.†......Marriage is dictated by state law, not federal law.. :12224

Does not matter what the Christian God said? You just continue to expose yourself daily.
Re: West Point Same Sex Marriage
You just do not get it
.........Our framers did not want a Theocracy.......You and your minions want EVERYONE to kow tow to your beliefs and form a theocracy.........But thank God for our framers.........You are but an example of why our framers did what they did......... :12224
