   Same here. No boxes though, my husband hauled all that stuff off and the stuff has been carried to their rooms but the tree's still standing. Tomorrow though, it's a goner.

I'm guessing ours will stay up through the week. Its always kinda cool putting the thing up and decorating the house, but taking everything down is a real pain.

Hubby took down all the outside stuff. Ornaments are off the tree but still haven't gotten it put up yet. That's on the list for this evening or tomorrow.

It was real easy "taking it down" since I never "put it up" in the first place.
Back when I did put up and decorate a Christmas tree [when my kids were little and at home and I was a Lutheran], I did not take it down til after Jan 6 - Epiphany - the day the Wise Men are supposed to have arrived in Bethlehem - the "12 Days of Christmas" [according to Christian tradition and song] is the time between Christ's birth and the arrival of the Maji [Three Wise Men/Kings] bearing gifts and acknowledging Him as the promised Saviour.
I'm surprised that all you staunch Christian "fundamentalists/literalists" don't recognize that date as the final day of the Christmas season/celebration.
When I was a child, my father a dairy farmer and my mother a teacher, we put up our Christmas tree on the first day out of school for Christmas vacation and took it down and cleaned up the house on New Year's Day - before Mom had to go "back to work" the next day.

Well, I broke tradition today and took the tree down. The husband fell this morning and his legs no longer have the strength to hold him up, so hospice brought him a hospital bed. There wasn't any room in the bedroom for it, so they put it where my tree was. At least I had help getting everything down and put away.

We took down and put away all the inside decorations yesterday...
The outside decorations are in the planning stage... When it makes it to the 50's, I'll take them down... too cold as of now..
