Diet is only part of the solution. Key is exercise. One simple, effective way -- walk a mile every day..........thats an agressive ,quick walk for at least a half hour ( Docs say 20 minutes).
Works.
I walk in the mall in the winter and add biking ( I have a recumbent) and kayaking ( a 14' single) in the good weather months.

Sounds like a good diet. I would stay away from the Adkins Diet. It is not very healthy. Adkins might make you lose weight short term, but once you stop that diet, you gain the weight right back. Plus, you are clogging your arteries in the process by eating all of that high saturated fat food.
One food item I'd suggest you try are the personal pizzas that Lean Cuisine makes. They are so good! I eat them all the time because they taste good. I eat them on taste value alone, as I don't need to lose weight. But I think it would be a good food to try if you haven't tried it yet!
