Arthritis causing bad pain today.

The last three days have been painful with today being the worse.
I was hurting so much earlier today at work that I tossed my cookies twice.
The over the counter stuff is no longer working and I am leaning toward calling the doctor on Monday to get the heavy hitting stuff he talked about when he first told me I have this.

Is anyone else hurting from this tody?

Yes.........My wife made a comment on our way home from church about her fingers and joints hurting more than normal.. Mine are also. We both have arthritus, although hers is worse.. I blamed it on the cold damp weather. :?: Really don't know, but the last few days have intensified..

I can't take anti-inflammatory medicine, due to a severe bleeding problem I had, so am limited to kinds of medicine that help.

Hope you're feeling better and can get back to your workouts. Are you sure your weightlifting isn't aggravating the problem?

Yea, My legs and arms are all hurting. It is like having a dull toothache in your bones....Aleve helps, but my hot tub seems to really take most of the pain away. So I just take an Aleve and sit in the tub for awhile.

ugh...pain

I know doctors are trying to keep people away from pain killers that are addictive.

but there is 1 I have found that is NOT a narcottic, does not take you to lala land and it helps. It is called Ultram. I get a lot of joint pain in my shoulder and arm. It really helps.

I, too, am aching. I think sudden big swings in temperature contribute as well as dampness. 60, sunny and dry one day to 30, cloudy and damp the next is just too much of an adjustment for joints with already compromised mobility to handle smoothly.
Do any of you take a Fish Oil supplement? It won't do you any good for short-term immediate pain relief, but I do think over the long term, taking it daily keeps me a little more supple and mobile, and maybe a little less affected by external factors such as weather or temporarily increased joint stress. I also find heating/massaging pads/mats helpful for my aching back/hip/leg.

for finger and hand relief hold your hands down in a bucket of wheat berries. You can feel the pain being drawn out.

The doctor put me on etodolac 400mg.

Etodolac is in a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Etodolac works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.

Etodolac is used to reduce pain, inflammation, and stiffness caused by many conditions, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and injury.

Etodolac may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

I was on these and they never helped, it is basically a very low dose of lidocaine, so low it doesn't work,

As for me today, I feel like someone took a sledgehammer, hooked it up to a machine to get full force from it and smashed it into my knees, I got up this morning and first wondered if it was worth it and second thought that my legs were broken it hurt so bad.
