Motorists may face gasoline prices as high as $4 a gallon this summer as crude oil costs smash records, painting a bleak picture for consumers already feeling the pinch of an economic slowdown.

It's way past time to open the reserves and seriously find another way to run the cars.

Its time for us to STOP buying gas for one week and I know this will never happen but stop buying it and see where we go from there...

The truckers need to go on a huge strike.

Their fuel is up to 3.69 at some place I drove by today.

its killing us! The fuel that we had delivered off road was 3.19 or 3.29 can't remember which! But the individuals can't do it alone the bug trucking firms need to do it also but they won't they pass the costs off to us!

I have a friend who is a driver and he said those in charge of the trucks will do just what you say. Just watch the price of food at all of the places people go eat at jump up again. Then we will see more places closing. Hey though the leader who put us in this mess and those who support him say, there's no problem.

Don't worry, everything will be headed south in January of 2009. The D's will be in charge and gasoline will be back to $1.50 a gallon. Happy days are here again.

Oh no, it won't be nearly that easy. Too much damage has been done, and too little money and attention has been directed at developing alternative energy sources to expect any possibility of immediate remedies.
We're going to continue paying more for gasoline for our own cars, and also for the increased shipping costs on all the products we expect to find on store shelves.

Knock yourself out!

Tires arent wearing out. Oil changes come less often. Mileage isnt increasing. I get all my errands run more efficiently, and actually save more money by not eating out as much.

The more they raise gas prices....the more it is like me getting a raise.

Fortunately there arent many like me. so I suspect the prices will remain high and I wont be tempted to be "normal" anytime soon.

Congrats to you.
How many miles do you drive to work everyday?
I spend about 25 dollars a week on gas just going to work.
Its the working man that gets hit the hardest.

i have to drive 24 miles a day just to get to school & back.

Gas is down to 2.89 here, it's like we're stealing it from them.

well it won't matter if there is a democrat or republican in office the fact of the matter is the gas prices is outrageous they are gouging us and therefore it will be passed on to us through the stores and cudo's to you gahs4ever I wish I could do that but I have to take kids to doctors etc. so therefore its impossible!

Even at that it is a major trip just to go to WalMart; living halfway between Gallipolis and Jackson, so to go to civilization is at least 35-40 miles round trip.

gahs4ever,

I am very envious of you. Not about the gas, but about the "Giving up work for lent". I want to "Give up work" to watch more basketball.

GO CAVS!!!
