Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers. He goes to the doctor in the morning to schedule his surgery. He has a torn ACL, MCL is strained, and MMT is torn in two places. He is out for the season but will be red shirted so he can play 3 more years. I will keep you posted as soon as I find out all the details. Thanks again.

His doctor is Wilcox, he operates on the college athletes where my son attends school. We are talking about getting a second opinion. So thanks for the information.

My heart goes out to Shayne and his family. May God give him a speedy recovery. Dr. Tesner at Grant Sports Medicine is the best.

racenut: This is one of my biggest fears is to get a phone call and someone tell me Andy's been hurt in practice. No way to get there fast. I certainly hope your young man has a full and speedy recovery and is back out on the field in no time!

I understand completely IronTigerMum, Shayne played the varsity game on Sat., then on Mon. afternoon, coaches decided to use the sophmore offensive line would play in the jv game, he called me at work to let me know however, I took a new job coaching and teaching and had a game so I couldnt be there, but my sister was at the game. I was texting her on my way to back to school, when the next text was don't panic, Shayne is hurt. Then I got the text, call me, my heart hit the floor. Luckily we were only about 5 min. from my car. I got to talk to Shayne, the trainer, and the team doctor before I hit the road to Columbus. He is in good spirits, but surgery is scheduled for Oct. 1,that way he can attend some classes and get his work. I know he will have a tuff time ahead. Thanks to everyone for your kind words, prayers, and thoughts. I will keep you posted on how things progress.
