Tennessee Directions?
I am heading to Tennessee from Jackson and usually head down through Ashland and then over to 64. Can anyone give me better directions so that I don't have to go through the Ashland traffic?

What part of Tennesse.
I traveled from Nashville to Jackson last year.
Went from Nashville to Cincinnati, and then took 32 home.
Took just a hair over 6 hrs.
I filled up in Nashville, and then again at the BP across from Holzer Hospital Jackson.

MOF, if you want to keep most of the same route over 64.
Take 139 to New Boston
Left(East) on US 52 to the Greenup Dam Bridge
Cross Bridge to Ky and US 23
Left (East) on US 23 Go through Greenup and just East of the
War Memorial turn Right onto the Industrial Parkway and that will take you over to US 64. Parkway is around 15 miles long
Hope this helps, Have a safe trip

ok, thanks, I believe that is what my parents are doing from Oak Hill down to Burg and then over.
as long as the wife can make it through 139 we should be ok. It isn't any worse than 93 I guess

IMO the 93/140 is not quite as bad as 139, but not by much.

I used to go down 93, but now whenever I head south, I go to Cincinnati and hit 75 south. It is a few miles longer, but I make better time because it is 4 lane all the way.

The Industrial Pkwy is the way to go. You can make there in about 6 hrs. or less.
It is a great trip and it is beautiful this time of year.

Re: Tennessee Directions?
If your going down 139 at the stop sign in minford turn left and go down 335 thru Sciotoville. It will save you some time, also there are some sharp curves on 139 so watch for the signs on the road.

Maybe if they got the signs off the road there wouldn't be so many sharp curves.

IMO 23 is the quickest way to get there. ashland traffic isnt so bad if you travel down greenup ave.

On the way down we went from jackson to 139 to 52 over to the Industrial Parkway. Wife had the eyes closed for the entire 139 trip and kept asking if we were there yet.
Really enjoyed the Industrial Parkway though as it seemed to shave off time from the Ashland traffic lights.
On the way home instead of doing 139 we hit 140 and went through Oak Hill. The wife liked this much better, but it was at night and she doesn't get as sick at night.
Good trip though. Sister got married up and about 60 people made the trip down with us.

MOF Glad to hear that you had a good and safe trip. I too favor 140 but then I live not to far from US 52

I make many trips out of Jackson to Minford and have traveled every way there is but the easiest way is to take 32 to Cinncinati until you come to Glade Road exit to your left. This will short cut you over to 776 and bring you out on 335 10 minutes or so from Muletown. Not that many curves as going to Jackson all the way on 139 or 776
