Yesterday the IHS band honored Band Booster President Steve Summers who went to be with the Lord. They played his favorite song at his funeral, "the Hey" song and learned Amazing Grace. The band and guard did him proud.

Mr. Sanders, Mr. Smith and Mrs. Freeman you should be proud of the way all your students handled themselves, they were respectful and played with heart, they've never sounded better. Thank you.

Steve was a good man.His time with the band will be missed.

Nice job to the band. They did Mr. Summers proud.

If I'm not mistaken, the band will pay tribute to Steve at the Ironton/Jackson game next week.

Yes they are. The band and guard are also wearing orange and black ribbons on their uniforms to honor Steve.
