Has anyone seen this movie? I watched it last night and I wasnt impressed. It was kinda of stupid I thought. The ending was horrible. Maybe I missed something though.

I watched it a few months ago and am STILL wondering about it!! I liked the overall movie but the end??? How can you end a movie that way?? It's like there was no end.....

I think that was the point - that the drug crimes of the 80s had upped the ante and that crime/evil would continue to evolve. The sheriff, who was an old man, was once able to stay ahead of criminals, but not anymore.
I didn't like the ending either, it was too artsy and unclear. I don't mind an ending being open to interpretation, but after a suspense filled movie it probably isn't the best idea to leave the audience somewhat confused.

That makes a lot of sense HD. I watched it with my parents and we all just sat there staring at each other going, "WHAT?" I understand now, but still hate the ending.

I have watched it 3 times. I love it. The ending is kinda shoking and weird the first time you watch it, but when you watch it the next time , pay attention to every word Tommy Lee Jones says in the movie.

I've seen it..the ending kinda leaves you out there but overall? Personally, I thought the acting was great and I loved the movie and will watch it again. Perhaps several times. We're all different though, that's why Baskin Robbins has all those flavors.
The villain in the movie is one of the more scary and disturbing personalities I've ever seen in a movie and is realistic (not like some monster movie) and I full expect him to be resurrected in a sequel of the movie. He just can't die like that. I think the ending suggest....'he'll be back'

A top twenty movie of mine.
Cormac McCarthy's book is even better.
If you're a reader (or even if not), pick up McCarthy's Pulitzer-Prize winning "The Road"......my favorite book of all-time.....movie version coming out in November - promises to be a classic.

There won't be a sequel....that's a cod-lock.
The ending makes a whole lot more sense if you read the novel.
