Warren Local will be under the direction of new director Lance Schwartz who came to us from Elgin High School in Marion,Ohio. Our show this year is "True Blood", music written and composed by Key Poulan. The music is based on the vampire them which seems to be very popular. Our tour begins this year with the Logan Elm Band Comp. on Sept 19, then a 2 show day with trips to Licking Valley and Watkins Memorial's competitions on October 3, the next weekend we go to Marietta's Band O Rama and Fort Frye's competition. We then take a week off and we go to Tri Valley and Newark the same day, then it's off to state and then in November we head off to Indianapolis for the Bands Of America competition, it's going to be a busy season and hope everyone has a good year.
one note the show's name will be changed, don't know what it will be yet but we will let you know.
The show will go by the original name "Midnight in Transylvania" and also we have a schedule change we will now be possibly going to the Buckeye Classic, if not we will go to the comp. I listed above on Oct. 3 and we will be going to Athens and Nelsonville-Yorks comps. on Oct. 17

Marietta's show is Shadows and features:
1. Chaos Theory by James Bonney
2. The Darkness is Always Soft by Ryan Fraley
3. Dreams and Proclamations by Roland Barrett
Basically we're going to the same competitions as Warren except, instead of Licking Valley and Watkins Memorial, we're going to Bellbrook (Mid-States) and Centerville (BOA). Just finished up band camp today and assuming we keep the work going, this should be a good season. Good luck to everyone as well!

NY just finished Band Camp and are doing quite well. The Flag Corp is really coming together. They are a very young group but very talented. The band is competing at Philo, OSU, The Buckeye Classic and not sure of the other one. Good Luck to everyone this year.
I have heard Athens is doing "Around the World in 8 minutes." Not sure what the songs are but sounds interesting.

I am not sure, but I hate that your son dropped out. There is always room for one more (hint, hint). But seriously, if he ever wants to rejoin I am sure Mrs. Paris would be more than happy to find a place for him but I know how busy kids can be. I know we have 3 football players this yr and I am sure they are dog tired. We also had a young lady rejoin last week which brings the band to right around 50 members.

Ms. Paris always ran the trombone sectionals for OMEA All-District Band when I was in HS. she is a fantastic lady, and I wish her and the NYHS Band nothing but the best. =)
