The speed limit is what ever it says on the signs
As long as the 45 MPH signs are up that's the limit
Nothing hard to understand about that

Re: route 52 construction...........................
I THINK THAT IT IS FUNNY WHEN PEOPLE SAY "SPEED TRAP"... DO THEY HAVE A BUTTON THEY PUSH TO MAKE YOUR CAR GO FASTER OR MAYBE THEY PUSH A BUTTON AND THE SIGN CHANGES FROM 55 MPH TO 45 MPH.....CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN BECAUSE I WOULD THINK THAT IF YOU DO NOT SPEED YOU DONT GET PULLED OVER...I WOULD CALL THAT A "SORRY EXCUSE" NOT "SPEED TRAP"...
Re: route 52 construction...........................
I dont have a problem with village police departments heavily patroling their village. I dont even have a problem with them ticketing cars at even 1 mile over the speed limit. However, I do have a prolem with Hanging Rock and Coal Grove patroling US 52, just for the purpose of gaining revenue. There are no cross walks or neighborhoods on 52 in either of those villages.
While the coal grove police is sitting out on 52, they could be making sure that people are safe along marion pike or down one of the many side streets in the village. Id hate to think that someone in the village would need emergency help and when they call, the village police is out patrolling the highway, where the highway patrol does just fine.

Re: route 52 construction...........................
WELL THINK ABOUT THIS.....THE OHIO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL WILL NOT HANDLE ANY ACCIDENTS THAT HAPPEN WITHIN THE VILLAGE LIMITS...AND YES PARTS OF 52 GO THROUGH THE VILLAGES SO THAT IS ALSO THEIR AREA.....SO ARE THEY NOT STILL MAKING SURE THAT PEOPLE ARE SAFE BY ENFORCING THE SAME TRAFFIC LAWS ON THE HIGHWAY AS WELL AS ON MARION PIKE OR THE OTHER STREETS IN THE VILLAGE...THE PATROL HAS NO PROBLEM ENFORCING TRAFFIC LAWS BUT WHEN IT COMES TO A CAR BROKEN DOWN OR A CRASH IT IS SUDDENLY NOT THEIR AREA.....SO THEY REQUEST THE HANGING ROCK PD, COAL GROVE PD, SOUTH POINT PD, .......
Re: route 52 construction...........................
so the grove police are out on 52 to onitor for crashes out there? Come on.

Here's my problem with it. It is confusing , sometimes barrels up, sometimes not. 45 mph sign are still up, some are obeying and some are running 60, lots of confusion and its really kinda dangerous with the changing traffic patterns and everyone running different speeds. Then when they arent working such as Labor Day weekend, barrels were ALL down signs still posted at 45 and CG cops hiding behind the porta-pot ????
Re: route 52 construction...........................
WELL BUCK-I....I WOULD SAY IT IS BECAUSE THAT THE FIRST WORD OUT OF PEOPLES MOUTH IS "OH CRAP" SO I WOULD SAY THAT IT IS A GOOD HIDING PLACE

Re: route 52 construction...........................
If it is dangerous with people speeding then that is a very good reason to be patroling 52.

Instead of catching someone going 46 or 47, how about catching someone selling crack in the village.

Re: route 52 construction...........................
It's all in how you drive, I have done 60 on rt. 52 and past Coal Grove and state and had nothing done to me, it's when you are going faster than that and think you are in the draft at a nascar race and are weaving in and out of lanes that they have a problem. If you have to go faster than 5 miles over the speed limit, then you need to leave earlier.
