Lawrence County Relay for Life
Lawrence County Relay For Life will be held May 14th and 15th at Chesapeake High School football field. The event begins Friday at 5 P.M. with a survivor reception at the middle school cafeteria. We welcome all survivors and a guest to the reception. Survivor registration is encouraged but you may register at the reception. Guests will be served dinner, and survivors will be given a survivor shirt along with a small gift bag. Immediately following the survivor reception, opening ceremonies begin at 6 P.M., followed by a survivor lap. Various activities go on throughout the night. Food will be available for purchase from various teams. Inflatables will be available throughout the evening and most of the night through closing, so come and bring your children. The luminaria ceremony will take place at 9 P.M. This is a key part of our Relay event. If you have not had the opportunity to attend a luminaria ceremony, you will want to stay to be part of this. You will truly be moved by this. This year, The Singing Colonels barbershop quartet will be giving a 1 hour concert. Saturday morning events will continue with awards ceremony beginning at 10A.M.. We conclude at noon on Saturday. For additional information, and survivor registration information, contact Melanie Kerstetter at 304-412-0441, or Debbie Filkins at 740-532-1603.
Re: Lawrence County Relay for Life
Also today, Wed, April 14th, the Foodfairs in Proctorville, South Point, Coal Grove and Ironton is giving a portion of all sales to Law Co Relay for Life, so today is a good day to get your grocery shopping done, and support a good cause. Our team Faithful Fighters is at Bartrams selling candy bars, baked goods, and registering survivors for the dinner. We also have the forms to purchase luminaries. For 10.00 a bag is lit with the name in honor of a survivor or in memory of a loved one and each name is called during silent laps during relay. It is a very special part of Relay! We hope to see you all there.
