Trump Trumps New York Times

Post by kantuckyII »

Gawl dang...Trump cuts her open and let's her bleed on the floor...too funny. Wow, too, his research? that's pretty amazing, you'd think something would turn up either way? Then again, I'm kinda stunned that the NY Times would have allowed Trump to utter that 3rd paragraph using their paper...maybe they're getting pretty curious too?
Donald Trump Responds

Re “Donald Trump Gets Weirder,” by Gail Collins (column, April 2):

Even before Gail Collins was with the New York Times, she has written nasty and derogatory articles about me. Actually, I have great respect for Ms. Collins in that she has survived so long with so little talent. Her storytelling ability and word usage (coming from me, who has written many bestsellers), is not at a very high level. More importantly, her facts are wrong!

As far as her comments on the so-called “birther” issue, I don't need Ms. Collins's advice. There is a very large segment of our society who believe that Barack Obama, indeed, was not born in the United States. His grandmother from Kenya stated, on tape, that he was born in Kenya and she was there to watch the birth. His family in Honolulu is fighting over which hospital in Hawaii he was born in-they just don't know.

He has not been able to produce a “birth certificate” but merely a totally unsigned “certificate of live birth”-which is totally different and of very little significance. Unlike a birth certificate, a certificate of live birth is very easy to obtain. Equally of importance, there are no records in Hawaii that a Barack Hussein Obama was born there-no bills, no doctors names, no nurses names, no registrations, no payments, etc. As far as the two notices placed in newspapers, many things could have happened, but some feel the grandparents put an ad in order to show that he was a citizen of the U.S. with all of the benefits thereto. Everybody, after all, and especially then, wanted to be a United States citizen.

The term used by Ms. Collins-“birther”-is very derogatory and is meant in a derogatory way. Had this been George Bush or almost any other President or Presidential aspirant, they would never have been allowed to attain office, or would have been thrown out of office very quickly.

For some reason, the press protects President Obama beyond anything or anyone I have ever seen. What they don't realize is that if he was not born in the United States, they would have uncovered the greatest "scam" in the history of our country. In other words, they would become the hottest writer since Watergate, or beyond.

Open your eyes, Gail, there's at least a good chance that Barack Hussein Obama has made mincemeat out of our great and cherished Constitution!

With real topics to discuss, why do papers pay any attention to this topic? Other than Obama haters, who cares about this topic? Why exactly can't a person born outside of USA be President? My daughters are US citizens and can't even remember their birth place. They are raised American, why can't they be President?

Another policy that needs amended.

Well, I care. A lot of people care. As Trump said, Obama is a BIG mystery till he entered public life...why?

You might approach your congress person and ask them to change the Constitution but for now, that's the way it is.

I know how it is. But why is it that way. The presidential election is a thirty month process now. Why does it matter where someone was born? We let foreign borns be governor and Congress members. Why not President? Because it's always been that way, is a juvenile argument. This isn't a discussion on church. Because it's always been done this way doesn't cut it.

I'm 100% for you having to have to be born in this country to be our president. I think it's a good idea then, and now. My opinion. It helps assure total dedication to America.

What I Do NOT understand that still is in effect is the Electoral College. I can't think of any law that would discourage people to not vote more than the Electoral College

So if you are born in America, you are "assured" to be dedicated to America. Interesting?

I swear, the more the White House protest, the more it makes me wonder. For clarification..something that the White House just ain't gettin' is that Trump first just ask, 'why won't he show his birth certificate?' and it was the media that took off on that..not Trump. Now, he's kind in there and speculation is growing..seriously, why won't he just release it? it's puzzling. I mean, if it irritates them and him so much, why didn't they turn lose of it a couple years ago? They brought this on themselves.

Then, the bitter vitriol coming out of the left and The White House..."Birthers"??? "Tea Baggers"??? nasty stuff! nasty stuff indeed!

The White House stopped just short of dismissing Donald Trump as a clown Sunday - calling him a "sideshow" act with "zero chance" of becoming president.

Chief Obama adviser David Plouffe unleashed a barrage of stinging comments on Trump, who has recently trafficked in fringe conspiracy theories about Obama's place of birth while taunting America with hints of a presidential run.

"There is zero chance that Donald Trump would ever be hired by the American people," President Obama's chief adviser David Plouffe told ABC's "This Week with Christiane Amanpour."

Plouffe noted Trump's surprise second place showing in a recent poll of New Hampshire voters with glee.

"I saw Donald Trump kind of rising in the polls and given his behavior and spectacle the last couple of weeks, I hope he keeps rising," Plouffe said.

Trump's focus on the wingnut obsession by so-called "birthers" with Obama's birthplace is way out of line with what Americans are really concerned with, Plouffe said.

"There may be a small part of the country that believes these things, but mainstream Americans think it's a sideshow," he said. "That's not leadership, that's kind of sideshow behavior."

Trump countered that he represents Obama's biggest nightmare in the 2012 race and that the White house is running scared.

"I know for a fact that I am the only candidate they are concerned with," Trump told The Daily News. "They are very concerned because I am challenging him as to whether or not he was born in this country where there is a real doubt."

"He should focus on properly dealing with the Chinese, the Saudis and all of the other nations that are ripping off the United States instead of making up quotes about Donald Trump," the "Apprentice" host blustered on. "Barack Obama has done a terrible job as president."

While Trump is not viewed as having a real chance at winning the presidency, experts say his remarks cut to the core of what irks the White House the most, which explains the hostility behind Plouffe's diss.

"There is no issue that irritates the White House more than the birther issue," said Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia's Center for Politics.

"They view it as a symbol for those who refuse to acknowledge Obama as a legitimate president," he said. "The fact that someone as prominent as Trump is bringing this up is a source of real frustration."

Sabato predicted that despite the noise Trump is making, he would soon fade away.

"It doesn't mean a thing," he said. "Trump may be the only person who believes he is a serious candidate, but it all seems to be some attempt at self-promotion."

Professional clowns were not offended by the aspersion that Trump was one of them - they say it's only natural.

"The association between clowns and politics goes back a long way, so we don't tend to get bothered by it," said Earl "Orky the Clown" Tempkin, of the World Clown Association.

"Besides, Trump would fit in pretty well - with his hairstyle he wouldn't need a wig," Tempkin said. "It's pretty hard to take a lot of these politicians seriously."

It's not a "policy" and it's not a "juvenile argument", it's the CONSTITUTION.
Why are people always wanting to change the Constitution....? It has made us the mightiest nation in the world and has served us well for 200 years.

I agree that it has been a waste of time and I will also concur that some people will always be racists, but not every person is racist that wanted proof of his birth certificate. That argument dont hunt and you know it.

Besides, if you are going to scream racisim everytime someone doesnt agree with Obama, you had better sit down and read Obamas 2 books that were published. His own words pretty much sum up his true intentions.

Least anyone conveniently forget, Bush was President when the stimulus package was passed and Bush was the President who signed it into law. While Obama may have overseen where money was spent on projects, it was Bush who signed it into law.

http://articles.cnn.com/2008-02-13/poli ... M:POLITICS
President Bush on Wednesday signed the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, calling it a "booster shot" for the American economy.

"The bill I'm signing today is large enough to have an impact, amounting to more than $152 billion this year, or about 1 percent of the GDP (gross domestic product)," the president said in the brief ceremony in the East Room of the White House.
I believe Obama also oversees two wars and billions of dollars that were initiated by President Bush.

I also believe our current financial state is the result of US policies that should never have existed to begin with.....allowing people to buy homes they could not afford, etc. etc.

To place sole blame on Obama for the deficit is a little extreme. He was handed a pretty big mess when Bush left.

I am not playing the blame game, but I want to see the President holding office do something to make changes as was promised during his campaign. It still is status quo. Nothing has changed but the spending and nothing getting done. Both parties are to blame. What our leaders have done, or should i say not done, speaks volumes. They all are out for their own gains and to hades with the people

No, he's not kidding. Obama inherited --

Two wars ongoing and costing billions of $$$$$$$$$ a month.

Loss of 9 million good paying jobs under W. to China , India & Mexico among others.

A deficit of almost $10 Trillion and rising.

Rising with the addition of TARP which had NO OVERSITE and Trillions $$$$ committed.

Rising unemployment and due to wildly explode from inept handling of the economy by W.

W. Enacting an expensive drug benefit but no means to pay for it.

W. refusing to raise taxes to pay for all his mismanagment and wild spending.

Enter Obama...................

People remember. People know. People don't forget.
