David B. Middleton, 44, was booked into Spokane County Jail following a high speed chase with police. Middleton had been pulled over for a traffic violation at Sprague and Farr and fled the scene causing police to give chase. Middleton’s speed was calculated at approximately 100 mph in a 35 mph area and police ended the chase over concerns of public safety, but were able to stop Middleton in a parking lot on Sprague between two patrol cars.

Middleton allegedly failed to comply with the officers and refused to cooperate when they attempted to handcuff him. Police regained control and subdued him with only a minor abrasion being reported. When police searched the area surrounding Middleton’s car, they discovered a black bag which one of the police officers had seen earlier during the traffic stop. Upon inspection of the bag it was found to contain glass pipes, clear plastic baggies, a pellet gun, and correspondences containing Middleton’s name.

Middleton faces felony charges of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, Eluding a Police Officer, Possession of Heroin, along with misdemeanor charges of Obstructing a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Marijuana, and Driving While License Suspended 3rd.
