In Ironton it's 6 - 8 this evening - WHAT BEAUTIFUL WEATHER - luckily warm and dry, but even better now permanently on daylight-savings time so it's mostly light/twilight - not full dark .
I haven't had either kids/grandkids at my house in many years to worry about walking around.
I still give out treats [may be my last year]; but I don't decorate [actually never did] at all.
What's your level of participation - big deal? There's going to be a Senatorial debate on WLWT [ch 20 TWC] at 7:00 that I'm interested in hearing, so I might have to quit treating 1 hr early.

Yeah, and in Flatwoods here or as you like to call it, Flatweeds :122245 , they have it tomorrow night. You wonder, If they'll even have it at all?

I do remember being a small boy and it pouring the rain on Halloween. I had my candy in a paper bag. And, as I was walking across the middle of 3rd St, the bag gave way and all my candy spilled onto the middle of 3rd on the corner of 3rd & Spruce. As I recall, they had not finished the "new highway" and 3rd St was a very busy place. My aunt had taken me that evening and she was begging me to get out of the middle of the street. Nothing doing! I was a little fat kid who had lost my entire evening's wages. No way was I going to abandon my candy! Traffic was backed up for a long way as I continue to scoup everything into my pockets

I don't know all the political/religious reasons why Ashland/Ironton/Russell picked the early date of Thurs, Oct 25 to schedule TRICK-OR-TREAT, but aren't we LUCKY they did?? WE had a gorgeous, warm, dry evening - as opposed to now.

I only had five Trick or Treaters show up last night, and one of them was my grandson. None of the other grandkids even came out. It was sooo cold and drizzleing rain. My grandson quit after 45 minutes because he was cold. I have lots of candy left. Guess I'll just have to force myself to eat it.
