.223 FMJ long barrell could go through you, but doubt it could blast through a wall behind to do much damage, a .40 could go through unless it hit a lot of bone.I personally would rather have 9 mill 115 than .40 because it is tamer recoil.

The obvious answer to the on going discussion is the weapon the individual is most comfortable with handling/shooting. Each weapon mentioned will get the job done. Home invaders (druggies mostly) aren't there to kill but to steal. The sight/sound of a weapon being fired at them will have them out the door in an instant! I would prefer any small arms for close quarters and long guns for those who haven't entered but are trying. To each their own. There isn't a right/wrong answer to your discussion. The CHOICE is up to the individual!
