Anyone else having car issues
My car did not want to start, then when it does, the battery light and engine light comes on and the car dies.

What a perfect day.

My car barely started this morning, gotta watch for fuel line freeze up's in these temps. Keep your gas tank half full or better to keep condensation out of the tank.

build a garage if u dont have one........wont have any problems..........

It better be heated, in these crazy temps you can still get fuel line freeze up's even in a garage. My garage isn't heated but it's better than setting outside, out of the wind, But I keep plenty of gas in the tank. I know some people that had fuel line freeze up's the last cold spell and they was told if they would have had more gas in their tanks it wouldn't have happened. Condensation build up gets in the gas and freezes. They have a garage as well.

Same here car wouldn't start... had to give it some gas for it to turn over. The cold is rough on older cars.

Had to put my old gal on the charger today,she groaned a little but didn't have enough in her to fire up,good news is I didn't have much trouble firing the generator up,them cheap reliable Harbor Freight genny's,just can't beat em :aaaaa59

some people just have all the bad luck...........I have parked my car in my unheated garage for 35 years without a problem......starts every time..........guess the condensation problems down here on the river are not as bad as the area you live in......

now if you really want to go the extra mile invest in a battery blanket and in-line water heater......goes in the lower radiator hose and works like a coffee pot circulating warm water thru the engine.......ask anyone who has lived in Alaska or North Dakota.....those folks are very familiar with the battery blankets and in line water heaters...........

I think the biggest problem is the oil getting all hard and gummy the colder it gets,best to put the lightest oil you can in the dead of winter,when I got mine fully charged today and tried to start it, it still sounded like the battery was dead even though my smart charger said full charge,when it finally started and ran a little I turned it back off then restarted and it sounded like a new battery :122249

very good point.....I dont know who sells them but they make a dip-stick you can put in your oil tube that can be plugged in that will keep the oil somewhat warm and ........I was told by a mechanic in Colorado to turn your headlights on for about 10 seconds before starting the engine......warms the battery up to a certain point.........

I heard them talking on the Corby radio show a week or so ago about that headlight trick,seems like it would discharge your battery even worse making it harder to start,they said it "wakes" up the battery giving it more power on startup.It would be nice to have something to keep that oil warm during very cold weather.Never knew they had a dipstick like that.I wonder if putting a lamp under the oil pan overnight would work?

Yep, engine oil in these arctic temps gets to be like thick syrup. Very hard on engines at start up. Takes way longer to get up into the engine to lubricate until it warms. These crazy temps are hard on everything C-bolt, A through Z.

Everything except the stinkbugs! I wish it would kill all of them off so I could look forward to fall, but I guarantee you they will be back

Yep. I hate them too. maybe we will get a little break from them sometime. Big Red told me to tell you that you can get ya a burrito at the buggy now. Good time to get one with no flies over there in these sub arctic temps. Ole Big Red was just a laughing up a storm telling me that. He gets a kick out of stuff like that. They are open today and it's only 19 degrees. I'm thinking about it. I've been craving a burrito here lately.

Don't have to worry about sweat dripping in the hamburger either,can't believe they don't have an air conditioner for that thing.Better go get ya one it don't look like you'll be getting one from Taco Bell down here anytime soon.

I'm assuming BR goes for burritos instead of tacos because they are easier to chew with that snaggletooth?

Zapped My Wife's battery in Her can just ended up getting a new one a few months shorter than Qe wanted
