World War Two Buffs? Great Books?

Post by Obdtf »

Anyone else a World War II buff? I love reading first person accounts. Here's two (two parts) that I can't recommend too highly.

D-Day Through German Eyes It's many first person accounts of German soldiers, garnered 10 years after the war, who were serving along the beachheads on D-Day. It's so interesting to read what they were thinking, especially before the landing. Many were puzzled why the Allies were fighting them. They honestly believed (these aren't SS Troops or even Nazi party members for the most part; most are conscripts) they were defending all of Europe from communism.

Available on Kindle only. You can buy both for 6 dollars total!

I'm a history nerd. That and my Dad served in the Navy in WWII. I use battle dates for passwords.😯

Good books to read. I also agree, first person accounts are the best.
