Your Top 5 Rock-n-Roll groups..all time

Thought I'd start a list...

I'll give you two of my five...the rest later. These are the groups whose songs will last forever..at least in your mind. They can be a newer group but, let's have a cutoff of groups before 1990. It's up to you though.

#5 Doobie Brothers

My easy number 1 would be Def Leppard. I will have think about the rest but RUSH will be in there somewhere.

Hard one! I have so many glam hair rock bands I love. I'll have to think about it as well, but I know 2 right off the bat I would listen to anytime. Cinderella and Tesla. Like Def and Rush too, Bolt. Top 5 is going to take some thinking! Might not se me post them because I have lots of fav's.

The Who and Led Zeppelin are tied for the top. Then comes Rush, The Police, Stevie Ray Vaughan...

Still thinking on it. I have so many I listened to and really liked from the 80's hair era. 60'S would be Elvis in it's top 5. 70's is pretty hard as well. Makes my brain work overtime with all the bands I enjoyed in the 80's though. I still listen to them a lot today. Can't beat that sound for me in my music choice. Man oh man, this is hard ranking the 80's arena rock, hair, glam, bands. In the mean time this band here "Tesla" would be in my top 5 for the 80's. Enjoy!

The Who and Led Zeppelin are tied for the top. Then comes Rush, The Police, Stevie Ray Vaughan...

I also listen to the Police, Flush. Very unique sounding percussion. He got drummer of the year in drum magazine I think it was one year but can't remember what year right off hand.

Zepp has some good tunes as well. Never listened to much of The Who, but they have a couple songs I like.

The Eagles would be my third in the top 5. Still thinking about the other two.

Have to admit that this is REALLY tough. Somewhat mind boggling...anywho here is my top 5

#1 Led Zepplin
#2 The Who
#3 Pink Floyd
#4 Rush
#5 Doobie Brothers

All 5 I have seen in concert. All 5 have albums/songs that are multi platinum. Zep..I saw in concert at the Festhalle in Frankfurt (then called West Germany) in June of 1980...a couple months later, John Bonham died. Saw the Who in 1983. Floyd...I saw in 1988 and 1994. Five times for Rush, including the R40 tour in 2004 (40 year anniversary). Doobies I have seen 4 times.

Great music...great songs...great performers.

Foreigner...Yes...Rolling Stones...Genesis...Bad Company...Metallica...AC/DC..ZZ Top....the list goes on and on.

That's my top 5.
