The REAL Rip Chords didn't sing this song

Future beach boy Bruce Johnston and Terry Melcher (Doris Days son and soon to be producer of the Byrds and Paul Revveres and The Raiders)recorded this song as Bruce and Terry and ,in this case as the Rip Chords

The Pyramids were a surf band from Long Beach,California who sported shaved heads and occasionally arrived at gigs on Elephants.This song got them a spot in the Frankie Avalon-Annette Funicello teen epic Bikini Beach

My favorite Classic Rock bands are The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Blue Öyster Cult, Queen, Styx, Steve Miller Band, Yes, and Grand Funk Railroad. I'm probably missing a few good ones. One of my favorite classic rock songs is Never Been Any Reason by Head East.

Two nights later 73 million Americans watched the Beatles Shake their heads on The Ed Sullivan Show.
On April 4 Billboards pop singles chart showed the top five positions occupied by this liverpudlian Quartet.
