I put warm water out for the cats during the day and they love it.

Re: The Front porch.
I gave mine a 50/50 mix of warm water and milk, they seem to like it more than food right now. Probably dehydrated from trying to stay warm while they sleep. Heck, it freezes up 15 minutes after you put it out there. I have to change it when I see one wanting a drink after it freezes. They ate some wet can food a little bit ago and went right back in there box.noreply66 wrote:I put warm water out for the cats during the day and they love it.

My cats love the milk too, they will always drink it over plain ole water even in summer.

I got one cat that won't touch milk and he's the biggest one I got. The others love it. They need pure water sometimes though, milk is not good for them all the time. I only give it to them when it's real cold out and for a treat once in awhile. They sure do love the tuna though, and one I got loves cut up cheese too. Ham and chicken all of them will eat. Dry cat food they eat the most.
Re: The Front porch.
They say milk is not good for cats because they are lactose intolerant, but it don't stop mine from drinking it.

Yep, that's what my vet told me too, but some cats are and some are not, she said it's best not to give it to them all the time because of that, it's hard to tell when one is, but it will give them real bad poopy's and they get sick from it. A cat will drink it anyways, they themselves don't know any better, so they will drink it regardless.
If you see one eating grass and puke after they eat the grass, that is an indicator their tummy is messed up from something. Even dogs will do it to feel better.

Re: The Front porch.
Yesterday I took an old crock pot and took the liner out and glued the small vent holes up. Put water in it and put it on the back porch and plugged it in. Kept it from freezing over night. Two cat were drinking out of it at 6am this morning.

Good idea Noreply. Did ya just keep it on a low warm setting. I got some ole crock pots in the basement. Might give it a try the next cold wave that's coming. Suppose to be in the single digits this coming Sunday morning and a couple of days after. What did you mean by gluing the small vent holes?noreply66 wrote:Yesterday I took an old crock pot and took the liner out and glued the small vent holes up.
