one thing that is sad about these polls is even they dont show how divided the country is. If you did a poll of 1000 adults in the deep south over to Texas, odds are that most of them would tend to be a lot more socially conservative. If you did a poll of 1000 adults is LA, San Francisco and Seattle, you would find the opposite results.

I do not know what the implications are...but I believe Ohio is becoming more of a socially liberal state. I do not think this state is as religious and conservative as it was say 25-50 years ago. I think we are seeing Ohio join the upper midwest and the coasts as a more secular state.

What do we believe in?

95% of us believe in God,though only 58% of us are "absolutely certain" of that (Gallup Poll/Harris Poll). But we are certain about our own virtues. 97% of us say we're good citizens, 94% of us say we're friendly,90% say we're generous (the Barna Group). This could explain why we're so forgiving of straying celebrities.69% of us have favorable feeling towards Mel Gibson despite his drunken,anti-Semitic tirade, and more of us feel positively than negatively about comedian Michael Richards, his racist rant notwithstanding. We have our limits, though.Only 34% of us have.
