Anybody been bass fishing ?

I just drove around and took a "creel census" yesterday. The first lake I went to had six bass boats on it. I caught one guy as he was just loading his boat to leave and he said he had fished for 3 hours and never had a bite. He also said he had talked to a couple of the others during the day and they had had no bites either.

The second lake I went to just had two little ole ladies fishing with night crawlers and they said neither of them had had a bite.

Consensus is....... about two more weeks yet on the bass.

with this weather goin from being 60 one day to 40 the next has got all these fish lock jawed as far as ive seen. anyone catching any?

I would like to see how the fishing is going on out at the 650 strip mines, but the last few times ive been out there, they have the gate locked

They lock gates to get in the strip mines there... the crown city strip mines dont even have gates and there are paths to off road into there just about everywhere anyway so it wouldnt even matter if there were gates

I was told that the 650 strip mines are shut down because there working on the roads up there.

Yeah I have heard that too, something about there are trees down everywhere out there and covering the trails.

We caught three bass and a Striper last night at hammertown One bass was almost 20 inches. and two were 16 inches. BOO ate the 16 incher and the striper.



I caught 2 of these today at adams lake. Boo caught one of them, well he almost did. He set there all day and then when he went to the restroom I caught 1 on his pole before he got back. LOL!!! I say its mine but he said its his pole so its his fish, but there in my Fridge. .

The day we were bass fishing we only had 4 minners with us and Ozzie wouldn't share them with me. He used them ALL.

BOO and Ozzy, The bass have been biting fairly well here in Vinton Co. since the ice finally melted off these farm ponds. My nephew caught 5 bass this past weekend between 8 to 10lb and released them into our upper pond. He caught 4 more that went around 6 to 7 the next day and brought them over to release.
