Hey Kantuck. I was reading an article in Sports Afield magazine the other day and it said that they are now making disposable trolling motors. You just use it for the day and then crunch it up when you are done and throw it away and go buy a new one. Have you seen the article?

I always wanted to fish Mosquito L., A guy from up there told me most of the locals there go after strippers and that a large mouth bass fisherman can slay them is it true?

Mosquito has no stripers. West Branch does. Mosquito is the best inland walleye lake in Ohio. Numbers & size. Big catches of crappies. The bluegills are giants.Largemouth is good as is the Channel cats. Northern Pike is good in the early Spring. White bass is down.

a lot of people mistakenly call Hybrids stripers...as well as some call white bass stripes....and this becomes stripers so it could be either hybrids (most likely) or possibly white bass he's been talking about then

The guy said strippers but maybe he ment white bass or walleye.

Well...like I said..a lot of people call hybrid strip bass strippers...There's not nearly as many lakes where they put real stripers in them anymore..the hybrids are much more adaptable and tolerant of warmer water. Stripers, after they're about 14 lbs will perish if the water is above 80 degrees for several days in a row. In a lake like Cumberland..there is oxygen down deep enough that they can get below those temps.

Mosquito is a big lake, almost 8000 acres and 11 miles long. Here's some photos at one of the bait shops there--

That's a real fine stringer of crappie! I wished we had them around here like that. It would be a blast fishing for them then

I think it would have been even cooler for you to have removed your teeth for the photo also..

Speaking of..when I was a kid, there was this store that had pool tables where we hung out at. There was an old guy who help run the place..the guy had one eye...and some kinda skin disease...one day..he pops that eye out..takes a rag and wipes it off...then..after he finishes that stuff with it..he then, in front of us all, pulls his pants leg up and takes a piece of sandpaper to his leg! now..that's some scary stuff there my friends for some young guys to have witnessed..Old age is scarier too all of us after seeing that!
